For a regular rectangular room, enter length, width, and quantity. For corridors, balconies, and other strip areas, enter length and width separately. If you already have a plan area, calculate by area directly.

Software Instructions

Set wall dimensions: Based on your measurements, choose “By room length and width,” “By wall perimeter,” or “By wall area,” then enter the corresponding dimensions and tiling height.
Add door and window deductions: Add doors, windows, niches, or other reserved spaces in the deduction area, and enter the width, height, and quantity; clear the list if no deductions are needed.
Set wall tile parameters: Enter the tile length, width, grout joint width, waste rate, pieces per box, and number of spare full boxes.
Select pricing method: Costs can be calculated by unit price per piece, per square meter, or per box. Enter the corresponding unit price and click “Start Calculation.”
View calculation results: The results will show the gross wall area, deduction area, net area, recommended number of tiles to purchase, number of boxes, coverage area, and estimated cost.
Save and export: You can save the current settings for later use; after the calculation is complete, you can copy the results or export a text list.

FAQ

A: By room length and width is suitable for rectangular rooms; By wall perimeter is suitable for spaces where the total wall length has already been measured; By wall area is suitable when you already have an area from design drawings or a construction quote.

A: Simply enter the actual width and height of the doors and windows. The system will deduct “width × height × quantity” from the gross wall area. For irregular windows or arched doors, you can estimate using the enclosing rectangle, or split them into several smaller areas to enter.

A: For standard straight laying, about 5% is a common reference; for wall corners, more cuts, or larger tile sizes, use 8%-10%; for patterns, diagonal laying, or irregular walls, increase it appropriately to 10%-15%. Adjust based on the on-site layout before purchasing.

A: Wall tiles are usually sold by the box. After you enter the number of tiles per box, the system converts the tile count including waste into the number of full boxes to purchase and calculates the actual coverable area, making it easier to check against the seller’s quote.

A: Pricing by tile is suitable for retail per-tile prices; pricing by square meter is suitable when material quotes are based on area; pricing by box is suitable when sellers quote by full boxes. Select the corresponding method and enter the unit price.

A: No. This tool is used to estimate wall tile quantities and only calculates wall tiling areas. If you need to calculate floor tiles, use a separate tool for floor tiles or flooring materials.

A: The current tile count is estimated based on the net wall area and the area of a single tile. Grout joint width is mainly used as a reference for tile layout rows. In actual installation, grout joints, wall flatness, and cutting methods can all affect the on-site quantity needed.
