For a regular rectangular room, enter length, width, and quantity. For corridors, balconies, and other strip areas, enter length and width separately. If you already have a plan area, calculate by area directly.

Software Instructions

Set the floor dimensions: Choose to calculate by room length and width, by strip area, or by known area, and enter the corresponding length, width, number of areas, or drawing area.
Set floor area deductions: If there are areas where tiles will not be laid, such as cabinets, islands, fixed cabinetry, or platforms, you can add deduction items and calculate the deducted area by length, width, and quantity.
Set floor tile parameters: Enter the tile length, width, grout joint width, waste rate, pieces per box, and spare full boxes. You can also click common sizes to fill them in quickly.
Set the pricing method: You can choose pricing by unit price per piece, per square meter, or per box. The tool will calculate the cost based on the number of pieces purchased, coverage area, or number of boxes.
Start calculation: Click “Start Calculation” to view the recommended number of pieces to buy, number of boxes, net floor area, deducted area, coverage area, cost, and calculation process.
Save and export: You can click “Save Settings” to keep frequently used parameters. After calculation, you can copy the results or export the list for easy purchase quantity verification.

FAQ

A: By room length and width is suitable for regular rectangular spaces; by strip area is suitable for long, narrow floors such as corridors, balconies, and entryways; by known area is suitable when you already have design drawings or on-site measured areas.

A: For standard straight laying, you can use 5%-10% as a reference. For diagonal laying, patterns, irregular spaces, or projects with more cutting, it can be increased to 10%-15%. On-site layout, tile specifications, and installation method all affect waste.

A: Many floor tiles are sold by the box. After you enter the number of pieces per box, the tool converts the required pieces after waste into the number of full boxes to purchase and displays the coverage area after rounding to full boxes, making it easier to check your order.

A: Grout joint width is mainly used as a tile layout reference. For actual purchasing, it is still recommended to consider tile area, waste rate, full box quantity, and on-site cutting conditions together.

A: If it is confirmed that floor tiles will not be installed under cabinets, islands, or platforms, you can enter this in the footprint deduction. If the layout may be adjusted later, it is recommended to keep the tiling area or add extra spare tiles.

A: The result is suitable for budgeting and checking before placing an order. Before purchasing, it is recommended to confirm the quantity again based on on-site remeasurement, tile layout direction, border tiles, decorative patterns, threshold stone transitions, and the color shade of the same batch.
