Software Usage Instructions

Select the area source: Choose room dimensions, known paintable area, or an estimate based on building area. Room dimension mode calculates wall area based on length, width, and height, and you can choose whether to include the ceiling.
Set deduction areas: In the door and window deduction section, enter the width, height, and quantity of doors, windows, cabinets, and other areas that will not be painted. The system will deduct them from the total area.
Configure paint parameters: Select types such as latex paint, primer, oil-based paint, or exterior wall paint, or manually enter coverage, number of coats, loss rate, surface coefficient, and bucket size.
Enter price information: Choose CNY/L or CNY/bucket based on the purchasing method, and enter the unit price of the topcoat. If primer is needed, enable primer calculation and enter the coverage, bucket size, and unit price.
Use the area list: Multiple rooms or areas can be added manually, or imported from a CSV/TXT file in the format “Area Name,Area”. After import, the total paint usage can be calculated together.
Calculate and export: Click “Calculate Paint Usage” to view the topcoat, primer, recommended number of buckets to purchase, and cost estimate. You can download CSV details or a ZIP report.

FAQ

A: Coverage is usually marked on the paint bucket or in the instructions, in units of ㎡/L/coat. It may vary depending on the brand, base surface, and application method, so it is recommended to enter the actual product parameters first.

A: Roller absorption, edge and corner work, paint mixing residue, and base surface absorption can all increase paint consumption. For standard roller application, you can set it to about 10%; for spraying or rough base surfaces, increase it appropriately.

A: Separate calculation is recommended. Primer is usually applied in 1 coat, while topcoat is commonly applied in 2 coats. Since their coverage and unit prices differ, calculating them separately makes the purchase list clearer.

A: Building area estimation is suitable for preliminary budgeting. Before formal purchase, it is recommended to verify using room dimensions or actual paintable area, and deduct doors, windows, cabinets, and other areas that will not be painted.

A: It depends on the bucket size, coverage rate, and number of coats. For example, with 5L of latex paint, if the coverage is 10㎡/L/coat, it can theoretically cover about 50㎡ with one coat or about 25㎡ with two coats. In practice, you also need to consider waste and the condition of the wall.
