Software Instructions
- Select the calculation mode: The tool provides two modes: “Single Room” and “Batch Rooms.” Single Room is suitable for quickly estimating one area, while Batch Rooms is suitable for summarizing purchase quantities for multiple spaces.
- Set material parameters: Select common material parameters, or choose “Custom Parameters” to manually enter the consumption coefficient, weight per bag, and reference water amount. It is recommended to fill these in according to the product instructions.
- Set thickness and waste allowance: Enter the leveling thickness and waste allowance. Minor leveling can be estimated at 3-5mm, standard leveling at 5-15mm, and the waste allowance can be increased when the substrate is uneven or there are many corners and edges.
- Enter room dimensions: Select rectangle, triangle, circle, trapezoid, L-shape, or known area, and fill in the dimensions as prompted on the page. An L-shaped room is calculated by subtracting the cut-out area from the total area.
- Use sample data: Click the “Fill in Sample Data” or “Sample Data” button to quickly see how to enter data for single and batch calculations.
- Batch import rooms: In batch mode, you can paste multiple lines of data in the format “Room Name, Area, Thickness,” for example “Living Room,24,12.” Thickness can be omitted, and the system will use the default thickness.
- Calculate and view results: Click “Calculate Usage” or “Batch Calculate” to view the construction area, mortar volume, material weight, recommended number of bags to purchase, and reference water amount.
- Export results: For a single room, you can download a text report; for batch results, you can download a ZIP file containing a summary table, text reports, JSON data, and details for each room.
FAQ
A: The commonly used estimation formula is: Material weight = Area × Thickness × Consumption coefficient × (1 + Waste allowance). The consumption coefficient is usually entered in kg/m²/mm and should be based on the instructions for the selected product.
A: Materials are purchased by the full bag, so decimal results need to be rounded up. For example, if the calculation is 13.04 bags, it is recommended to purchase 14 bags to cover construction waste and local low spots.
A: The thickness should be entered based on the floor height difference and construction requirements. For slight leveling, use 3-5mm as a reference; for standard leveling, use 5-15mm; for thick-layer application, confirm whether the material supports the corresponding thickness.
A: For standard floors, set 5%-10%. If the substrate is sandy, uneven, has many edges and corners, or the work area is scattered, set 10%-15%. Actual purchasing should also be based on on-site verification.
A: Enter the total length A, total width B, cutout length C, and cutout width D. The tool calculates the actual construction area as A × B - C × D.
A: It is not recommended to mix them directly. Consumption rates, bag weights, water requirements, and applicable thicknesses may vary between products, so parameters should be entered according to the instructions for the actual material purchased.
A: Batch mode calculates the weight and number of bags for each room separately, then totals the overall area, total weight, and total number of bags. This makes it easier to carry out work by room zone and check materials.
