Software Usage Instructions

Select calculation mode: Single calculation is suitable for one-time volume calculations, while batch calculation is suitable for processing multiple sets of water tank, oil tank, or storage tank data.
Select container type:
- Cylindrical container: Suitable for vertical water towers, oil drums, and horizontal storage tanks. You can enter the liquid level height to calculate the partially filled volume.
- Rectangular container: Suitable for water tanks, fish tanks, and pools. You can enter the wall thickness to calculate the internal net volume.
- Vehicle fuel consumption: Estimates fuel consumption based on average fuel consumption and driving distance.
Enter parameters and units: Fill in the radius, length, width, height, liquid level height, or wall thickness as prompted on the page, and select input units such as centimeters, meters, millimeters, inches, or feet.
Set output results: Select output units such as liters, milliliters, cubic meters, US gallons, imperial gallons, or cubic feet, and set the number of decimal places.
Start calculation: After clicking “Calculate Volume,” the page will display the main result, conversion results, calculation formula, and key parameters.
Batch calculation: You can paste multiple rows of data or upload a CSV or TXT file. The system only previews the first 20 results on the page, while the downloaded file will contain all calculation results.
Save settings: Click “Save Settings” to save frequently used container types, output units, and decimal places for easier use next time.

Frequently Asked Questions

A: A vertical cylinder is calculated by multiplying the base area by the height. For a partially filled horizontal cylinder, the liquid level height and volume are not linearly related, so the volume must be calculated by multiplying the circular segment area by the tank length.

A: Liquid level height refers to the vertical distance from the bottom of the container to the current liquid surface. Leave it blank to calculate the full volume; enter a value to calculate the current liquid volume.

A: If you are measuring the external dimensions of the container, you can enter the wall thickness. The tool will subtract the side wall and bottom thickness to calculate the internal net volume. If you are measuring the internal dimensions, simply leave the wall thickness blank.

A: The cylindrical format is “radius,height,liquid level”; liquid level is optional. The rectangular format is “length,width,height,liquid level,wall thickness”; the last two items are optional. The vehicle fuel consumption format is “fuel consumption,mileage”.

A: Units such as liters, milliliters, cubic centimeters, cubic meters, US gallons, imperial gallons, cubic feet, and cubic inches are supported. The results area also displays common unit conversions.

A: The result represents the estimated fuel consumption based on the entered fuel economy and mileage. For example, with fuel consumption of 8L/100km and mileage of 400km, the base fuel consumption is about 32 liters; checking the reserve option adds 10% to the planned amount.
