Software Usage Instructions

Select the area source: Choose room dimension calculation, known paintable area, or building area estimate.
Enter area data: In room dimension mode, enter length, width, and height, and select ceiling and door/window deductions as needed; in known area mode, you can directly enter square meters or square feet.
Set paint parameters: Choose the paint type, or enter the coverage rate shown on the product label, then set the number of finish coats, loss rate, surface factor, bucket size, and unit price.
Configure primer: If primer is needed, select separate primer calculation and enter the primer coverage rate, bucket size, and unit price.
Use the area list: For multiple rooms, you can manually add areas or import a CSV/TXT file in the format “Area name, area”.
View and export results: Click calculate to view usage, number of buckets, remaining amount, and cost. You can download CSV details, a ZIP report, or copy the summary.

Frequently Asked Questions

A: First refer to the coverage rate on the product packaging or instructions. Different paints, wall conditions, and application methods affect coverage area. If you are unsure, you can first use the type presets in the tool.

A: Door and window areas usually do not need painting, so deducting them makes the wall area closer to the actual construction area. If door or window frames also need painting, they can be added to the list as separate areas.

A: Common wall surfaces are usually estimated with 2 finish coats; when changing from a dark color to a light color, when the base color is uneven, or when higher coverage is required, you can choose 3 coats or increase the loss rate.

A: Rough, porous, or highly absorbent substrates increase paint consumption. The surface factor is used to adjust the amount needed based on the base area.

A: For CSV or TXT files, each line should contain one area entry in the format “area name, area”, for example “living room wall,45”. After import, the tool will preview the first 20 entries and process all data during calculation.
