Software Usage Instructions

Select the input format: Choose HEX, Text, DEC, BIN, or Base64 format based on the data source.
Enter the data to verify: Fill in the data in the input box, or click “Load Example” to view the format.
Set calculation parameters: Set the initial value, result XOR value, start byte, end byte, result inversion, HEX case, and separator according to protocol requirements.
Save common settings: Click “Save Settings” so you can continue using the current parameters the next time you open it.
Calculate the checksum: Click “Calculate BCC/XOR Checksum” to view the HEX, DEC, OCT, BIN, and raw data plus checksum results.
Verify complete data: Switch to “Checksum Verification”, enter the complete HEX data containing the checksum, and check whether the checksum matches.
Batch file verification: Switch to “Batch Files”, select multiple files, and start calculation. You can copy the results or download a ZIP report.

FAQ

A: A common implementation of BCC is byte-by-byte XOR calculation, so it is also often called an XOR Checksum. XOR the bytes involved in the calculation in sequence, and the resulting 1-byte value is the checksum.

A: Space-separated, comma-separated, continuous input, and 0x prefixes are supported. For example, AE 01 03 59, AE010359, and 0xAE 0x01 0x03 0x59 can all be parsed.

A: Byte positions start from 0. The start byte indicates which byte to begin including in the calculation, and the end byte indicates which byte to calculate through; entering -1 for the end byte means calculating all the way to the end of the data.

A: Different device protocols define different ranges to include in the checksum. Some start after STX, some include ETX, and some only calculate the data area. Set the start byte and end byte according to the protocol documentation.

A: If the checksum equals the XOR result of the original data, then XORing the original data and the checksum together again will produce 0x00. This is a common BCC checksum verification method.

A: No. The batch file feature only reads file contents and calculates checksum values, generating summary tables and report files without modifying the original files.
