Software Usage Instructions

Select a calculation mode: The tool provides four modes: calculate ratio, proportional scaling, target ratio, and batch processing. It is recommended to set the parameters first, then click Calculate.
Calculate aspect ratio: Enter the width and height to get the simplified ratio, decimal ratio, pixel dimensions, total pixels, orientation, and similar common formats.
Scale dimensions proportionally: Enter the original width and height, then fill in the target width or target height. The tool will calculate the other dimension based on the original ratio and supports rounding, ceiling, floor, and even dimensions.
Convert by target ratio: Select ratios such as 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 1:1, or 21:9, or enter a custom ratio. Dimensions can be calculated by width, height, crop fit, or padding fit.
Batch process data: Enter one set of dimensions per line in the text box. Formats such as 1920x1080, 1920,1080, and 1920 1080 are supported. You can also select multiple images to read their dimensions.
View and export results: The batch results page displays the first 20 entries. Copy, CSV download, and ZIP download include all processed results.
Save settings: Click “Save Settings” to keep commonly used rounding methods, ratios, and batch processing parameters for future use.

FAQ

A: Aspect ratio is the proportional relationship between width and height, usually written as 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, and so on. It can be used to determine the display shape of an image, video, canvas, or screen and prevent content from being stretched or compressed.

A: Use the “Proportional Scaling” mode. First enter the original width and height, then fill in only the target width or target height. The tool will automatically calculate the other dimension based on the original ratio. For example, 1920×1080 converted by width 1280 becomes 1280×720.

A: 16:9 is commonly used for landscape videos, monitors, presentations, and HD videos; 9:16 is commonly used for vertical short videos, mobile pages, and portrait covers. When choosing a ratio, consider the publishing platform and content composition.

A: It supports one set of dimensions per line, in formats such as 1920x1080, 1920×1080, 1920,1080, or 1920 1080. You can also add a name before the dimensions, such as banner 1920x1080. The tool will automatically extract the width and height.

A: Crop fit cuts off excess areas while maintaining the target aspect ratio, making it suitable for covers, thumbnails, and fixed frames. Margin fit preserves the full content and expands the canvas, making it suitable for scenarios where you do not want the image to be cropped.

A: No. After you select an image, the tool only reads its width and height to generate aspect ratio and dimension results. It will not upload the image file to the server.

A: The ZIP contains a CSV of batch results and a text report for each result. Image dimension results will use the original file's base name to generate the report. If duplicate names occur, a number will be appended to the file name to distinguish them.
