Software Usage Instructions

Prepare chart data: Choose manual input, paste a table, import a CSV/TXT/Excel file, or load sample data. The data usually has two columns: the first column is the category name, and the second column is the corresponding value.
Check the data preview: After importing a file, a preview of the first 20 rows will be shown; if multiple files are selected at once, the interface only displays the first 20 files, but all valid files will be processed during generation and packaging.
Set the chart style: You can adjust the title, subtitle, chart width and height, inner radius size, start angle, slice spacing, stroke width, background, and center text.
Configure labels and legend: You can choose to display names, percentages, and values, set labels inside the slices or outside with guide lines, and choose to show the legend on the right, at the bottom, or hide it.
Choose a color scheme: You can use preset colors, random colors, or set a separate color for each category; after clicking save settings, commonly used parameters will be restored automatically the next time you use it.
Generate and download: Click “Generate Donut Chart” to preview the result. You can download PNG, JPG, SVG, and PDF separately, or click “Download All Results ZIP” to package the charts and data files.

FAQ

A: A donut chart is suitable for showing the proportion of each category within a whole, such as sales structure, budget distribution, traffic sources, and questionnaire option percentages. If there are too many categories, it is recommended to merge smaller items or use a bar chart instead.

A: CSV, TXT, XLSX, and XLS files are supported. It is recommended to enter category names in the first column and values in the second column; headers are allowed, and the tool will automatically identify and skip invalid rows.

A: Empty categories, non-numeric values, zero values, and negative numbers will not be included in the generation. If categories with the same name appear repeatedly, the tool will automatically merge their values for easier calculation of the overall proportion.

A: Yes. After selecting multiple data files at once, the tool will generate the corresponding charts separately. When downloading the ZIP, the results will be saved using the original file names; if duplicate names occur, a number will be automatically appended to the file name to distinguish them.

A: PNG is suitable for transparent backgrounds and sharp images, JPG is suitable for smaller file sizes, SVG is suitable for later vector editing, and PDF is suitable for printing, archiving, or inserting into formal reports.

A: You can reduce the number of categories, increase the chart size, change labels to show only percentages, or enable the legend and hide some external labels. When there are more than 20 categories, it is recommended to merge low-percentage categories.
