Software Usage Instructions

Import data: Select a JSON, CSV, XLSX, or XLS file, or paste table data or load sample data. Multiple files will enter batch processing, and the interface will display the first 20 files for review.
Confirm field mapping:
- Time column: Select time fields such as year, month, or date.
- Category column: Select category fields such as country, brand, city, or product.
- Value column: Select numeric fields such as GDP, sales volume, population, or amount.
Set animation parameters:
- Number of bars: Control the number of rankings displayed in each frame.
- Canvas size: Set the width and height for GIF and PNG exports.
- Frame interval and tween frames: Adjust the animation pace and transition smoothness.
- Theme colors: Choose from light, dark blue, and paper themes, as well as multiple color palettes.
- Number format: Supports compact format, thousands separators, prefixes, suffixes, and decimal places.
Generate preview: Click “Generate Preview” to view the animated bar chart race. You can play, pause, replay, or drag the timeline to view different points in time.
Export results: For a single file, you can download GIF, PNG, and JSON; for multiple files, click “Batch Generate ZIP” to generate results using the original file names and download them as a package.
Save settings: Click “Save Settings” to keep commonly used canvas, style, number, and animation parameters for future use.

FAQ

A: It is recommended to include a time column, a category column, and a value column. For example, date can be the year, name can be the country, and value can be GDP. The tool also supports wide-table structures, where numeric columns other than the time column can be treated as different categories.

A: JSON, CSV, XLSX, and XLS formats are supported. CSV files can be separated by commas, Tabs, semicolons, or vertical bars, and Excel files will read the first worksheet.

Answer: The chart displays the top categories ranked by their values at the current point in time. You can increase the “number of items to display” in the animation settings, or check whether that category has a valid value at the corresponding point in time.

Answer: You can reduce the canvas size, reduce the number of tween frames, reduce the number of displayed items, or lower the GIF frame rate limit. For data with many time points, we recommend previewing the effect with PNG first, then exporting as GIF.

Answer: Batch results will use the original file names and change the extension to GIF. If duplicate names occur, the system will append a number to the file name. After processing is complete, all files will be packaged into a ZIP for download.

Answer: No. Data parsing, animation generation, and file packaging are all completed on the current page. The server will not receive the data files selected by the user.
