Software Usage Instructions
- Set conversion parameters: Enter the volumetric flow rate value and select the source and target units. Decimals, negative numbers, and scientific notation are supported.
- Choose the display format: You can set smart precision, fixed decimal places, thousands separators, standard numbers, scientific notation, or engineering notation.
- Start single-value conversion: Click “Start Conversion, Next Step”; the system will display the main result and simultaneously list results in units such as L/s, L/min, m³/h, GPM, and CFM.
- Use batch conversion: Switch to “Batch Conversion” and enter one value per line. Formats such as “120 m3/h”, “35 GPM”, and “500 CFM” are supported. If no unit is entered, the default source unit will be used.
- Copy and export results: You can click an individual result to copy it, copy all results, or download a CSV file for spreadsheet organization.
- Save common settings: In “Settings and Reference”, save the default source unit, target unit, precision, and copy format, or bookmark frequently used unit pairs.
- View reference information: Use examples such as faucets, showers, small pumps, ventilation airflow, fire hydrants, MGD, and bbl/day to quickly insert values into calculations.
Frequently Asked Questions
A: Common units such as mL/s, L/s, L/min, L/h, m³/s, m³/min, m³/h, GPM, GPH, CFM, CFS, imperial gallons, bbl/day, MGD, and acre-ft/day are supported, covering metric, US customary, imperial, and common industry scenarios.
A: US GPM represents the flow rate in US gallons per minute. The common relationships are: 1 GPM ≈ 0.227124 m³/h, and 1 m³/h ≈ 4.40288 GPM. The tool automatically calculates using the standard US gallon factor.
A: CFM means cubic feet per minute and is commonly used for ventilation, air conditioning, compressed air, and fan specifications. For engineering calculations, it can be converted to m³/h, L/s, or m³/s for comparison with metric equipment parameters.
A: Enter one flow rate value per line, using formats such as “120 m3/h”, “35 GPM”, “500 CFM”, “15 L/s”, or “1 MGD”. Lines without a unit will be processed using the default source unit selected in the batch area.
A: A US gallon is approximately 3.785411784 liters, while an imperial gallon is approximately 4.54609 liters, so their volume definitions differ. Therefore, the conversion results for GPM and Imp GPM are different. When selecting units, refer to the equipment labeling or project standards.
A: They can be used for unit standardization and parameter comparison. When selecting pumps, valves, pipes, or flow meters, you also need to consider factors such as head, pressure loss, fluid properties, temperature, viscosity, pipe diameter, and design margin.
