Software Usage Instructions

Select Excel files: Click the “Select File” button and choose the XLS, XLSX, XLSM, or XLSB files you need to convert. You can also select multiple files in batches.
Set CSV parameters: Choose the delimiter, encoding format, line break, date format, and quote handling method, and set the start row, end row, whether to skip empty rows, and whether to keep empty columns as needed.
Select worksheets: You can convert all worksheets, convert only the first worksheet, or select specific worksheets by worksheet name.
Save settings: For commonly used parameters, click “Save Settings” to continue using the current configuration the next time you open it.
Preview data: Click “Preview First Worksheet” to check the header, dates, Chinese content, and delimiter effect.
Start conversion: After entering the “Convert and Download” step, click “Start Conversion”. The system will process all files and worksheets one by one.
Download results: After conversion is complete, you can download CSV files individually or click “Download All Results ZIP” to get the packaged files.

FAQ

A: Common Excel formats such as XLS, XLSX, XLSM, and XLSB are supported. If the file is password-protected, corrupted, or has an abnormal structure, it may not convert properly.

A: You can choose to convert all worksheets, convert only the first worksheet, or select specific worksheets by name. When multiple worksheets are output, the CSV file names will include the worksheet names for easy identification.

A: If you mainly open Chinese CSV files in Excel, UTF-8 BOM is recommended. If you need to import them into a database or system interface, UTF-8 is commonly used. For older systems, you can try GBK.

A: Comma is a common CSV delimiter; semicolon is suitable for certain regional or system requirements; tab is suitable for tables and database imports. When the data contains commas or semicolons, you can use a pipe or a custom delimiter.

A: CSV is a plain text data format. It only preserves content such as cell text, numbers, and dates, and does not preserve Excel formatting effects such as colors, borders, formula styles, images, or merged cells.

A: Output files will use the original Excel file names as much as possible; for multiple worksheets, the worksheet name will be appended. If duplicate names still occur, a number will be automatically appended to the file name to avoid overwriting.

A: Common reasons include corrupted files, insufficient memory caused by oversized files, encrypted files, incompatible structures, or the selected worksheet name not existing in some files. You can first test the workflow with sample data, then process larger files in batches.
