- Configure parsing parameters:
- Encoding: You can choose automatic detection, UTF-8, GBK, GB18030, Big5, UTF-16, and other encodings.
- Delimiter: Supports automatic detection of commas, semicolons, tabs, pipes, and spaces, or you can enter a custom delimiter.
- Text qualifier: You can set double quotes, single quotes, or no qualifier to handle fields containing commas, line breaks, or quotation marks.
- Data cleanup: You can set options to skip empty lines, trim leading and trailing spaces, define comment line prefixes, fill missing columns, and enable formula protection.
- Set the output format:
- Excel format: Supports XLSX and XLS output formats.
- Worksheet name: You can customize the worksheet name, with a maximum length of 31 characters.
- Display options: You can set automatic column width, header row style, freeze header row, and filter range.
- View the data preview: The tool parses the data according to the current settings and displays a preview. It is recommended to confirm the number of columns, headers, Chinese content, and delimiter results before conversion.
- Save common settings: After clicking “Save Settings,” commonly used parameters such as encoding, delimiter, and output format will be automatically filled in the next time you use the tool.
- Start conversion and download: Click “Start Conversion” to generate the Excel file. Pasted data can be downloaded directly as a single file, while batch files will be packaged into a ZIP archive for download.
FAQ
A: Text data files such as CSV, TSV, and TXT are supported. As long as the data is separated by commas, semicolons, tabs, pipes, spaces, or custom symbols, it can be parsed according to the settings and converted into an Excel file.
A: Garbled text is usually related to file encoding. You can first select “Automatic Detection.” If the preview is still abnormal, manually switch to UTF-8, GBK, GB18030, Big5, UTF-16, or another encoding, then check the preview result.
A: This is usually caused by a delimiter mismatch. You can click “Auto-detect,” or choose a comma, semicolon, tab, pipe, or custom delimiter based on the actual format of the original file.
A: The converted Excel files will use the original file names whenever possible. If duplicate file names are encountered, the tool will append a number to the file name to distinguish them, and the batch results will be packaged as a ZIP file for download.
A: Yes. Please make sure the text qualifier is set correctly. Common CSV files usually use double quotation marks to wrap fields that contain commas, quotation marks, or line breaks. After setting it, you can check the parsing result in the preview.
A: Yes. After selecting “Include header row,” the tool will treat the first row as the header. You can also enable automatic column width, header row styling, freeze header row, and filter range to make it easier to view the data later.
