Software Usage Instructions

Select SVG files: Click the “Select SVG Files” area, or drag and drop SVG files into the upload area. You can select multiple SVG files at once. The interface only displays the first 20 files, but all files will be converted during processing.
Load sample data: Click “Load Sample SVG” to quickly view the conversion process and default output results.
Configure compression and background:
- Compression mode: Choose lossy compression or lossless-priority mode. Lossy compression is suitable for reducing file size, while lossless priority is suitable for scenarios with higher quality requirements, such as icons and logos.
- Output quality: In lossy compression mode, you can adjust the quality. The higher the value, the better the image details usually are, and the file may also be larger.
- Background handling: Keep a transparent background or fill with a specified background color.
- Base DPI: Used to convert physical units in SVG such as in, cm, mm, and pt.
Set output size:
- Keep original size: Output according to the SVG’s own width and height or viewBox.
- Output by scale: Choose scaling options such as 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 3x, and 4x.
- Custom width and height: Manually set the output width and height, with the option to maintain the aspect ratio.
- Crop transparent margins: Automatically remove transparent blank areas around the image.
Set file naming: Add a filename prefix or suffix. By default, the original filename is preserved and only the extension is changed to .webp; if duplicate names occur, numbers are automatically appended to distinguish them.
Start conversion: Go to the “Convert & Download” step and click “Start Conversion”. The tool will display the number of successful conversions, failed conversions, result size, and progress.
Preview and download: After conversion is complete, you can preview the first 20 results, download them individually, or click “Download All Results (ZIP)” to get all successfully converted WebP files.

A: WebP is suitable for optimizing web icons, logos, illustrations, banners, and general images. It supports transparent backgrounds, as well as lossy compression and lossless-priority output, and is commonly used to reduce the size of web images.

A: Lossy compression is suitable for web display and file size optimization, with manually adjustable quality; lossless priority is suitable for icons, logos, line art, and other images with higher requirements for edges and colors.

A: Yes. When background processing is set to “Keep transparent background,” transparent areas in the SVG are preserved as the WebP alpha channel. If “Fill with specified background color” is selected, transparent areas will be filled with the selected color.

A: SVG is a vector text format, so simple icons may be very small. WebP is a bitmap format; the larger the output dimensions and the higher the quality, the larger the file may become. You can reduce the output dimensions or quality, or crop transparent margins to control file size.

A: By default, the original SVG file name is kept, and only the extension is changed to .webp. If multiple files have duplicate names after conversion, the tool automatically appends a number to the file name to avoid overwriting results.

A: Enable “Keep aspect ratio when customizing width and height” and select the “Fit proportionally” scaling mode to reduce stretching and distortion. If you need to fill the canvas, choose “Fill canvas proportionally.”
