Software Usage Instructions

Select CAD files: Click the “Choose File” area and select the DWG or DXF files you need to process. Batch selection is supported. The interface displays the first 20 files, and the remaining files will still be processed.
Select processing mode:
- Smart processing: Convert DWG files to DXF, and rewrite DXF files with the selected version and parameters.
- DWG → DXF: Process only DWG files. Other formats will be skipped and recorded in the report.
- DXF → DWG check: Generate a compatibility check report without creating pseudo-DWG files.
Configure conversion options:
- Target DXF version: Choose from AutoCAD R14, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013-2014, 2018, and other versions.
- Insertion units: Keep the original file settings, or set to millimeters, meters, inches, feet, or unitless.
- Normalize line breaks: Format the output DXF with line breaks better suited for CAD software reading.
- Remove comments: Clean up 999 comment groups in the DXF.
- Add processing marker: Record the processing time in DXF comments.
Save settings: Click the “Save Settings” button to save the current version, units, and cleanup options for easier use next time.
Start processing: After entering the “Process & Download” step, click “Start Processing”. The tool will process all files in order.
Download results: After processing is complete, you can download files individually or click “Download All Results ZIP” to download them as a package. The processing report records success, skipped items, and file statistics.

FAQ

A: The conversion engine can read DWG files from AutoCAD R14 to AutoCAD 2020, and can output DXF in common versions such as R14, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013-2014, and 2018.

A: DWG is a complex binary drawing format, and the current tool does not generate pseudo-DWG files. The check report lists the DXF version, layers, blocks, entities, and text statistics, making it easier to later save as DWG in CAD software.

A: DWG to DXF conversion will preserve layer, linetype, text style, block, and entity information as much as possible. Special objects, proxy objects, or software-specific objects may need further inspection in CAD software.

A: If you need compatibility with newer CAD software, choose AC1032 or AC1027; if you need to use it with older software, choose AC1024, AC1021, AC1018, or AC1014.

A: Output files will keep the original file names whenever possible. When duplicate names occur, the tool will append a numeric suffix to the file name to avoid overwriting other results.

A: Common causes include corrupted files, DWG versions or object types not supported by the current engine, insufficient memory due to oversized files, incomplete DXF structures, and more. We recommend testing with a sample file first, then processing larger drawing files in batches.
