Select files and confirm conversion settings before processing
DOCX uses a local document parser to extract text; older DOC files will try local readable text extraction. For complex documents, save as DOCX first.

Instructions
Software Instructions
- Select Word documents: Click the “Choose File” button to add the DOC or DOCX files you want to convert. You can select multiple files at once. The interface displays only the first 20 files, but the remaining files will still be processed.
- Set the extraction mode: Choose “Structured Text” to preserve paragraphs, lists, and table column separators, or choose “Plain Text” to extract content in the document’s original text order.
- Configure cleanup options: Set blank line handling, space cleanup, full-width space conversion, table tab preservation, and TXT line break format as needed.
- Set output naming: By default, the original file name is used and changed to .txt. If duplicate file names occur, a number is automatically appended to the file name. You can also enter a prefix, suffix, and ZIP file name.
- Save common settings: Click “Save Settings” to save the current conversion parameters for future use with the same configuration.
- Start conversion and download: After entering “Process & Download,” click “Start Conversion.” When complete, you can preview the result, copy the current text, download an individual TXT file, or download all results as a ZIP.
FAQ
A: DOCX file parsing is supported, as well as readable text extraction from older DOC files. DOC is an older binary format, so complex formatting, special encodings, or protected content may not be extracted completely. It is recommended to save the file as DOCX before processing.
A: Structured Text mode tries to preserve paragraphs, lists, and table column separators, making it suitable for organizing materials. Plain Text mode is closer to the document’s original text order and is suitable when you only need the main text content.
A: By default, the original Word file name is used and the extension is changed to .txt. If multiple converted files have duplicate names, the tool automatically appends numbers to distinguish them. You can also add a unified prefix or suffix in the settings.
A: Structured text mode separates table cells with tabs, making it easy to copy into spreadsheet software or continue data cleaning. Images, complex styles, and object content will not be preserved in the TXT.
A: Common causes include file corruption, document encryption, the format not being a real Word file, or complex content encoding in older DOC files. You can first confirm that the file opens normally, then save it as DOCX and convert it again.
A: No. Document reading, text extraction, TXT generation, and ZIP packaging are all completed locally on the current device. The original files will not be submitted to the server.
