Software Usage Instructions

Set comparison rules: First select the comparison granularity, default view, how unchanged lines are displayed, and the batch file matching method, then check options such as ignore case, ignore whitespace, and ignore blank lines as needed.
Enter or load text: Paste content into the “Original Text” and “Modified Text” areas, or select local text, code, JSON, XML, CSV, and other files separately to load their content.
Load an example: When using it for the first time, click “Load Example” to view how line-by-line differences, modified content, and added content are displayed.
Start comparison: Click “Start Comparison” to generate results. The tool will display statistics for similarity, added lines, deleted lines, modified lines, and identical lines.
View differences: Switch between side-by-side, unified, and statistics views, and use “Previous Difference” and “Next Difference” to quickly locate changes.
Export results: Copy the difference summary, or download JSON or HTML result files for archiving and sharing.
Batch comparison: Select multiple files to compare in pairs in order, or select left and right file groups to match by file name. After processing, you can download a ZIP result package.
Save settings: After configuring commonly used parameters, click “Save Settings” to continue using the current rules the next time you open it.

FAQ

A: Green indicates added content, red indicates deleted content, and yellow indicates original content that has been modified; unchanged content keeps a normal background.

A: Similarity is calculated by combining text edit distance and line-level differences. A higher value means the two pieces of content are more similar. After ignore rules are enabled, it is recalculated based on the processed content.

A: Common text and code files such as TXT, MD, JS, CSS, HTML, PHP, Python, Java, C/C++, JSON, XML, CSV, LOG, INI, and YAML are supported.

A: You can choose “Compare in Pairs by Selection Order,” for example pairing the 1st and 2nd files; or you can select left and right file groups and automatically match them by identical file name.

A: No. Text reading, diff calculation, and result packaging are all completed on the current page; file content is not submitted to the server.

A: For large texts, it is recommended to turn off automatic comparison, set the ignore rules first, then manually click “Start Comparison.” When there are many batch files, the interface only shows the first 20 summaries. Download the ZIP to view the complete results.
