Instructions
Software Usage Instructions
- Import Excel files: Click the file area to select xlsx or xls files, or drag files in. You can select multiple files at once. The interface only displays the first 20 files, but all files will be included during processing.
- View file preview: After import, the worksheets and the first few rows of data from the first file will be displayed. You can switch worksheets to view the column structure.
- Set columns to delete: You can click the preview table header to select columns, or manually enter column identifiers. Single-column formats such as A, C, and E are supported, as well as combined formats such as A|C|E, A,C,E, B:F, and A,C:F,H.
- Select worksheet scope:
- Process all worksheets: Apply the same column deletion rules to every worksheet in the file.
- Process only the first worksheet: Process only the first worksheet in each file.
- Process by worksheet name: Process only worksheets that match the name, suitable for cases where multiple files have the same structure.
- Configure output options: Choose to output as XLSX or CSV. For CSV, you can set comma, semicolon, or Tab delimiters, and choose UTF-8 or GBK encoding.
- Save settings: Click “Save Settings” to save the current columns, worksheets, and output parameters, so you can reuse them when processing similar files later.
- Start processing and download: Click “Start Processing”. After a single file is processed, the result file will be downloaded directly; after multiple files are processed, a ZIP archive will be generated for download.
FAQ
A: Use Excel column letter identifiers. Multiple columns can be separated with commas or vertical bars, such as A,C,E or A|C|E; consecutive columns can be written as a range, such as B:F, which means deleting columns B through F.
A: Yes. After selecting multiple xlsx or xls files, the tool will use the same deletion rules for all files. The interface only displays the first 20 files for checking, but all files will be included in the actual processing.
A: An Excel file may contain multiple sheets. After selecting “Process all worksheets,” each worksheet will have columns deleted according to the same rules; if you only want to process the first sheet, choose “Process first worksheet only.”
A: XLSX is suitable for preserving multiple worksheets and table structure; CSV is a plain text format, suitable for importing into databases, system backends, or data analysis tools. CSV usually saves only one processed worksheet.
A: UTF-8 is more universal; GBK is suitable for some Chinese office software or legacy system import scenarios. If Chinese characters display incorrectly after opening the CSV, you can switch to the other encoding and export again.
A: No. Processed files use the original file names by default. If batch files produce results with the same name, the tool will append numbers to the file names to avoid overwriting each other.
A: Common causes include corrupted files, encrypted files, mismatched worksheet names, incorrect column identifier input, or insufficient memory due to large file size. You can first test the rules with sample data, then process larger files in batches.
