Choose a method and settings first, then remove blank lines from TXT, CSV, or TSV.

Supports pasted text, single-file import, and batch processing. CSV/TSV mode protects line breaks inside quoted fields. Batch results can be zipped.

Select a processing mode: Single-file mode is suitable for pasting text or importing one file; batch processing is suitable for cleaning multiple text files such as TXT, CSV, TSV, LOG, and MD at the same time.
Enter content or select files: In single-file mode, you can click the TXT example, CSV example, import a single file, or paste content directly; in batch mode, you can select or drag in multiple files. The list only displays the first 20 files, but all files will be included during processing.
Configure processing parameters: You can choose to remove all blank lines, remove only completely empty lines, merge consecutive blank lines, keep one blank line between sections, and set the content type, import encoding, output line endings, CSV delimiter, and tab handling method.
Set whitespace rules: You can enable options as needed, such as trimming spaces at the beginning and end of each line, removing blank lines at the beginning and end of the text, merging consecutive normal spaces, recognizing Unicode whitespace characters, and removing zero-width characters.
Configure download options: You can set the output file name suffix, whether to keep the original extension, the batch ZIP file name, and whether to add a UTF-8 BOM when downloading.
Start processing: Click “Start Processing” or “Start Batch Processing”, and the tool will generate results according to the current parameters; during batch processing, you can click “Cancel Processing”.
Copy or download results: Single-file results can be copied or downloaded; batch results can be downloaded individually, or all results can be downloaded as a ZIP file.

FAQ

A: Removing all blank lines removes empty lines as well as lines that contain only spaces, tabs, or Unicode whitespace characters; removing only completely empty lines removes only lines with no characters at all, while lines containing spaces or tabs are kept.

A: CSV safe mode is recommended when CSV fields contain quotes, line breaks, or blank lines inside fields. It determines blank lines by CSV records, reducing the chance of mistakenly deleting content inside fields.

A: CSV files may contain records such as “,,,” where all fields are empty. In CSV mode, the tool recognizes these empty records and cleans them according to the current blank-line rules.

A: In general, you can use “Auto-detect/Default”. If Chinese text appears garbled, try encodings such as GBK/GB18030, Big5, or Shift_JIS. If you need to open a CSV file in Excel, you can check “Add UTF-8 BOM when downloading”.

A: Batch results use the original file name with a suffix added by default to generate the output name. If duplicate names are encountered, the tool automatically appends a number, such as “data_cleaned (2).txt”, to prevent files in the ZIP from overwriting each other.

A: Common text files such as TXT, CSV, TSV, LOG, MD, JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, JS, SRT, VTT, INI, YAML, and SQL are supported. As long as it can be opened as plain text, it can usually be processed.
