Software Usage Instructions

Add OFD files: Click to select files or drag OFD files into the upload area. You can select one or multiple OFD files at once. When selecting in batches, the interface only displays the first 20 files for verification, but all files will be included during processing.
Load sample data: Click “Load Sample OFD” to quickly view the tool workflow, ideal for first understanding the compression settings and download results.
Select a compression preset:
- Fast compression: Prioritizes processing speed, suitable for lightweight file optimization.
- Balanced compression: Balances image resource and document structure optimization, suitable for everyday use.
- Deep compression: Prioritizes file size control, and processing may take longer.
Configure compression parameters:
- ZIP compression level: The higher the level, the longer processing usually takes.
- Image quality: Lowering image quality can reduce the size of OFD files containing images.
- Maximum image dimensions: Images exceeding the width and height limits will be scaled down proportionally.
- Batch concurrent processing count: Choose 1 to 3 concurrent tasks based on your device performance.
- Single-file download name: You can keep the original file name or add a compressed suffix.
Select optimization items: You can enable options such as compress JPG images, scale images by size, convert PNG to JPG, convert BMP/TIFF/GIF to JPG, remove thumbnails, remove embedded fonts, and optimize XML content.
Save settings: After clicking “Save Settings”, the tool will automatically restore the current parameters the next time it is opened.
Start compression: After entering the “Process & Download” step, click “Start Compression”. The tool will display the current file, progress, and elapsed time.
Download results: A single OFD will generate one OFD file; multiple OFD files will be packaged as a ZIP download. Batch file names keep their original names by default, and duplicate names will automatically receive numeric suffixes.

FAQ

A: Usually, yes. The tool mainly reduces size by repackaging ZIP, compressing image resources, cleaning thumbnails, and simplifying XML. It does not actively modify the core page structure of the OFD. For important files, we recommend opening a sample after processing to verify them.

A: Fast compression prioritizes speed and is suitable for lightweight processing; balanced compression processes both images and document structure, making it suitable for common OFD files; deep compression uses a higher ZIP level and enables more optimization items, making it suitable for scenarios with higher size reduction requirements.

A: For OFD files with many images, we recommend starting at 85%. If the document mainly consists of scanned images, you can adjust it to 75% or 95% depending on clarity requirements. If the document contains mostly text and vector content, the image quality setting may have little impact on file size.

A: Converting PNG to JPG processes transparent areas with a white background and is suitable for ordinary image resources. If the OFD contains transparent seals, transparent watermarks, or materials that need to retain transparency, we recommend disabling this option.

A: Embedded fonts may take up a lot of space, and removing them can reduce file size. However, if the reading device lacks the corresponding fonts, text display and layout may change. For documents that require high layout consistency, we recommend keeping embedded fonts.

A: If the original OFD has already been sufficiently compressed, or the file mainly consists of text and vector objects, there is limited room for further compression. You can check the structure analysis of the first file. If images make up a large proportion, adjusting image quality and the maximum size limit will be more helpful.

A: Batch downloads are packaged as a ZIP. When OFD files with the same name are encountered, the tool appends a number to the file name, such as “Invoice.ofd”, “Invoice_1.ofd”, and “Invoice_2.ofd”, to avoid overwriting result files.
