Software Usage Instructions

Select a processing mode: Single-file mode processes one document; batch mode lets you select multiple documents at once. The batch queue displays only the first 20 files, but all files will be processed during conversion.
Select a conversion direction:
- CEB/CEBX to PDF: Detects embedded PDFs, image pages, images from XML data, and unprotected page resources in compressed archives.
- PDF to CEBX source project: Converts a PDF into a source project package containing page images, XML descriptions, a text layer, thumbnails, metadata, and a conversion manifest. Finished CEB/CEBX files must be generated using a licensed compiler.
Select files: Click the file selection area or drag documents into the tool. Only CEB, CEBX, or PDF files corresponding to the current conversion direction are accepted.
Configure CEB-to-PDF settings: Set the parsing strategy, page range, resource sorting, page size, orientation, image fitting method, margins, DPI, page background, and how vector pages are preserved.
Configure PDF-to-CEBX source project settings: Set the rendering DPI, PNG or JPEG page format, JPEG quality, page range, color mode, compression method, document metadata, text layer, thumbnails, and whether to retain the original PDF.
Use a sample: Click “Load Sample” to generate a three-page sample file for the current conversion direction and use it to verify the settings and output structure.
Start processing: Click the convert button to view progress, status, and format diagnostics. For batch tasks, you can choose to continue processing other files after an error occurs.
Preview and download: The tool previews the first 3 pages of the first successful result. Each result can be downloaded separately, or all successful results can be packaged as a ZIP. Numbers are automatically appended to duplicate file names.

Frequently Asked Questions

A: Older CEB files may use proprietary glyphs, XDA packaging, special image encoding, or digital rights protection. The tool does not bypass document permissions. If no readable page resources are found, it provides diagnostic information. We recommend exporting an unprotected PDF using an authorized reader before processing it.

A: Finished CEB/CEBX files require the vendor’s compiler to process proprietary packaging, glyphs, and permission information. The source project ZIP stores page images, XML descriptions, the text layer, and page number mappings, and can be used for document organization, migration, or import into a licensed compilation environment.

A: Complete or embedded PDFs, PDFs and common image pages in unprotected archives, Base64 images in XML, and identifiable PNG, JPEG, and WebP page resources in binary files are supported.

A: Enter “All” to process every page, or enter “1-3,5,8-10” to process continuous ranges and individual pages. Page numbers beyond the document's page count will be ignored.

A: Preserving vector pages is suitable when the CEB contains a complete PDF payload, retaining selectable text and vector graphics. If you set a fixed page size or margins, or disable vector preservation, pages will be re-rendered at the selected DPI.

A: Output files retain the original base file name with the target extension. If duplicate names occur, numbers such as “(2)” and “(3)” are appended to the file names to prevent files from overwriting each other in the ZIP archive.

A: No. File reading, page rendering, format detection, PDF generation, and ZIP compression are all performed on the current device. Document content is never submitted during processing.
