File Corruptor
A professional file corruption tool that supports 6 corruption methods, custom corruption levels and target areas, and batch file processing for software testing.
Browser execution mode: Your data is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to the server.
Speed and Stability: Processing speed depends on your device and browser. For large batch work, the desktop version may be more stable.

Tool Usage
Return to old versionChoose files to create corrupted versions
Drag files here or click to choose. The list shows only the first 20, but all selected files are processed.
Set corruption level and algorithm
Light corruption is good for error-handling tests; high corruption is good for fault tolerance, recovery, and exception flow checks.
Set target range and protection rules
Protect key header and footer areas so test files can still be recognized by some software, or target a specific file range.
Process files and download results
Single files download directly; multiple files are packed as a ZIP. Duplicate names get numbers appended.
Instructions
Software Usage Instructions
- Select files: Click the “Select or drag and drop files” area to choose the files for which you want to generate corrupted versions. Batch selection of files in any format is supported. The list will show the first 20 files, and the remaining files will be processed together.
- Set the corruption method:
- Corruption level: Set a corruption ratio from 1% to 99% using the slider or number field. The higher the ratio, the more data in the output file will be affected.
- Corruption algorithm: Choose from random byte replacement, zero-byte filling, bit flipping, byte position shuffling, inserting random data, or deleting random bytes.
- Corruption mode: Supports scattered corruption, concentrated corruption, sequential corruption, and periodic corruption to simulate different types of data anomalies.
- Random seed: After entering a seed, the same file and the same parameters can generate consistent test results, making experiments easier to reproduce.
- Set area rules:
- Target area: Choose the entire file, first 25%, middle 50%, last 25%, or a custom percentage range.
- Header and footer protection: Protect the first 512 bytes and last 512 bytes of the file, suitable for preserving some format identification information.
- File size limit: Choose a limit of 10MB, 50MB, 100MB, 250MB, or 500MB based on your device performance.
- File naming rules: Choose whether to append the “_corrupted” suffix; if duplicate names are encountered, numbers will be automatically appended to distinguish them.
- Save settings: Click “Save settings” to keep the current parameters, which will be automatically loaded the next time you open the tool.
- Start processing: Go to the “Process and download” page and click “Start corrupting files”. The tool will process all selected files using the current parameters.
- Download results: After processing is complete, you can download result files individually, or click “Download results ZIP” to get all successfully processed files and the processing report.
