Software Usage Instructions

Select files: Click “Select Files” or “Select Folder” to import the files you need to process; you can also click “Load Sample Files” to view the effect of the rules.
Set filtering and sorting: Select file types such as all files, documents, images, videos, audio, archives, or code text, and sort by name, extension, size, modification time, or selection order.
Select a renaming mode:
- Adjust based on original name: Add a prefix, suffix, or number before or after the original file name.
- Unified name plus number: Use a unified name with an incremental number to generate new file names.
- Find and replace text: Replace specified content in file names with new content, with optional regular expressions and case matching.
- Delete specified text: Delete specified characters from file names, limited to the beginning, end, or all matches.
- Custom template: Use variables such as {name}, {index}, {date}, {time}, {fileDate}, {type}, and {random} to combine file names.
Configure general processing: You can set the starting number, increment step, number of digits, extension case, specified extension, file name case, space replacement, invalid character cleanup, and duplicate name handling method.
Save settings: Click “Save Settings” to keep commonly used rules and continue using them the next time you open the tool.
Generate preview: After entering “Preview Download,” click “Generate Preview” to check the first 20 old and new file names. If there are more files, all filtered files will still be included during processing.
Start processing and download: After confirming the preview is correct, click “Start Processing.” The tool will generate a ZIP file. Click “Download Renamed Files ZIP” to save the results.

FAQ

A: It supports adding prefixes and suffixes to original names, unified names plus numbers, find and replace, deleting specified text, and custom templates. It can also be combined with extension, space, case, and invalid character processing.

A: You can use {name} for the original file name, {index} for the number, {ext} for the extension, {date} for the current date, {time} for the current time, {fileDate} for the file modification date, {type} for the file type, and {random} for a random number.

A: If multiple files generate the same file name, the tool will automatically append a number to the file name, such as “file.txt”, “file (2).txt”, “file (3).txt”, to prevent results from being overwritten.

A: This usually means the rules did not match the file names, or the prefix, suffix, or replacement content is empty. Please check the naming pattern, search text, filter type, and sorting settings.

A: Yes. File type filters support categories such as documents, images, videos, audio, archives, code, and text. Only files that meet the filter criteria will appear in the preview and processing results.

A: The original extension is kept by default. You can also choose to convert the extension to lowercase or uppercase, change it to a specified extension, or remove it, which is useful for organizing file names with inconsistent formats.
