Software Usage Instructions

Select image files: Click the “Select Images” area and choose the image files you want to convert. Common formats such as JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, and BMP are supported, and you can select multiple images in batches.
Load a sample image: If you want to preview the effect first, click “Load Sample Image”. The tool will automatically generate a sample image for testing parameters.
Set the output effect: Adjust the output width, character height correction, character set, background mode, and output format according to your needs. The larger the width, the richer the character art details, but the file size will also increase.
Select a character set:
- Standard character set: Suitable for code, terminals, and regular text display.
- High-density character set: Provides richer grayscale levels and is suitable for images with complex contours.
- Block character set: Suitable for creating pixel-style ASCII art.
- Custom character set: You can enter custom characters. It is recommended to arrange them from dark to light.
Adjust image parameters: You can adjust brightness, contrast, and gamma, and enable invert brightness, dithering enhancement, colored character art, trim blank edges, and add line numbers as needed.
Select an export format: TXT is suitable for plain text storage; HTML is suitable for preserving web display styles; SVG is suitable for vector display and further layout.
Start conversion: After entering the “Process & Export” step, click “Start Conversion”. Batch files will all be processed, and the interface will only display the first 20 results for preview.
Download results: You can copy the first result, download the first file, or click “Download All Results ZIP” to get all converted files.

FAQ

A: ASCII art is a form of text art that uses characters of different densities to represent the light and dark areas of an image. It is commonly used in code comments, terminal displays, text documents, and web decoration.

A: 40-80 characters is suitable for simple icons and terminal display; 100-150 characters is suitable for photos and general display; higher widths are suitable for images with more detail, but the generated content will be longer.

A: Monospace characters are usually taller than pixels, so direct conversion can easily appear vertically stretched. Character height correction is used to fix the proportions, and the default value is suitable for most images.

A: TXT is plain text and highly compatible; HTML can preserve font size, background, and colored character effects; SVG is suitable for vector display and layout, with sharper edges when enlarged.

A: Try increasing the output width, increasing contrast, enabling dithering enhancement, or using a higher-density character set. Results will be more stable when the original image has clear outlines and distinct light and dark areas.
