Software Instructions

Select image files: Click the “Select Images” area and choose the images you want to reduce. Common formats such as JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, and GIF are supported, and you can select multiple files in batches.
Set reduction rules:
- By percentage: Reduce the width and height proportionally based on the original image. For example, 50% means both width and height are reduced to half of the original.
- Limit longest side: Keep the longest side of the image within the specified pixels, suitable for applying a unified maximum size to images in batches.
- Specify width or height: Enter the target width or height, and the other side will be automatically calculated according to the original image ratio.
Configure output settings:
- Output format: Keep the original format, or convert to JPEG, PNG, or WebP.
- Output quality: Adjust the quality value for JPEG and WebP to balance clarity and file size.
- Transparent background color: When converting transparent images to JPEG, you can set a fill background color.
- Naming rules: Keep the original file name, or add a suffix to the original file name; if duplicate names occur, numbers will be appended automatically.
Save settings: Click “Save Settings” to save the current reduction rules, output format, quality, and naming method for future use.
Start processing: Go to the “Process & Download” step, confirm the task information, then click “Start Reducing Images”. The tool will process all images using the current settings.
Preview and download: After processing is complete, you can preview the first 20 results. A single image can be downloaded directly, while multiple images can be downloaded as a ZIP archive by clicking “Download Results”.

FAQ

A: Common image formats such as JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, and GIF are supported. Animated GIFs will be output as static images using the first frame.

A: Percentage is suitable for reducing images by a uniform ratio; limiting the longest side is suitable for keeping images of different sizes within the same pixel limit, such as making the longest side no more than 1200px.

A: No. Whether scaling by percentage, longest side, specified width, or specified height, the other dimension is calculated based on the original image proportions to prevent stretching or distortion.

A: To keep the page running smoothly, the preview area only shows the first 20 images. During actual processing, all selected files will be processed, and the downloaded ZIP will include all successful results.

A: JPEG is suitable for photo images and usually produces smaller files; PNG is suitable for transparent images, icons, and line art; WebP is suitable for web use, offering a good balance of file size and clarity; if you’re not sure, choose to keep the original format.

A: The JPEG format does not support transparency, so transparent areas need to be filled with a background color. You can set white or another color as the background in the output parameters.

A: By default, the original file name is preserved as much as possible. If multiple results have the same name, the system automatically appends numbers to subsequent file names to prevent files in the ZIP from overwriting each other.

A: Common causes include damaged image files, non-standard formats, images with overly large pixel dimensions causing insufficient memory, or insufficient resources on the current device. Try reducing the target size, processing in batches, or using standard JPG, PNG, or WebP images.
