Software Usage Instructions

Select image files: Click the “Select Image” area and choose the image you want to add noise to. Common image formats such as JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, and GIF are supported, and you can also select multiple files in batches.
Load sample image: If you want to check the effect first, click “Load Sample Image” to test film grain, color noise, and color fluctuation effects using the built-in sample image.
Select a noise style: You can use presets such as film grain, natural texture, old TV noise, color pixels, and print grain, or manually select film grain, grayscale pixels, multicolor pixels, color fluctuation, local color sampling, or custom color noise.
Adjust noise parameters:
- Noise intensity: Controls the proportion of pixels involved in noise processing.
- Grain size: Controls the size of noise blocks, suitable for creating fine grain or obvious pixel textures.
- Color range: Controls the range of brightness and color disturbance.
- Noise opacity: Controls how much the noise blends with the original image.
- Blend mode: Choose effects such as normal overlay, overlay, soft light, multiply, screen, and difference.
- Random seed: Enter fixed content to reproduce a similar noise distribution; leave it blank to generate a different effect each time.
Configure advanced options: You can choose to add noise to transparent areas, convert to grayscale first, keep monochrome grain, add subtle dithering, preserve the original transparency, and set the output format, output quality, and side length limit.
Preview current settings: Click “Preview Current Settings” to view the effect on the first image first, then process in batches after confirming the style.
Start processing: Click “Start Adding Noise,” and the tool will process all selected images according to the current parameters. The interface only displays the first 20 results, but the downloaded file will include all successfully processed images.
Download results: After processing is complete, you can download the first image, or click “Download All Results ZIP” to save all results. Output file names will keep the original file names as much as possible, and a number will be added automatically if duplicate names occur.
Save settings: After clicking “Save Settings,” commonly used noise parameters will be recorded for continued use next time.

FAQ

A: Film grain leans toward a retro photo texture and is suitable for portraits, landscapes, and old photo effects; grayscale noise generates black, white, and gray grain, suitable for old TV, scanned document, and glitch styles; color fluctuation slightly disturbs the original image colors, making it suitable for natural textures and photographic noise.

A: You can choose the “Film Grain” preset, set noise intensity to 10%-25%, grain size to 1px or 2px, opacity to 35%-60%, and select “Overlay” or “Soft Light” as the blend mode. If you want a black-and-white old photo effect, you can check “Convert to grayscale first”.

A: For subtle texture, set intensity to 5%-15%; for everyday vintage effects, set it to 15%-30%; for obvious glitch or poster effects, set it to 30%-50%. A grain size of 1px is suitable for delicate photos, 2px-4px is suitable for covers and posters, and larger grains are suitable for pixelated or experimental styles.

A: Hex colors are supported, such as #111827, #f8fafc, and #0f6fb5. Common English color names are also supported, such as black, white, red, green, blue, yellow, cyan, teal, and orange. Multiple colors can be separated by spaces, commas, or line breaks.

A: The JPEG format does not support transparency channels. When exporting as JPEG, transparent areas are composited onto a white background. If you need to preserve a transparent background, we recommend choosing PNG or WebP and checking “Preserve original transparency”.

A: The result will try to keep the original file name and replace the extension according to the output format. For example, when photo.png is exported as JPEG, it will become photo.jpg. If multiple files produce results with the same name, the system will automatically add a number after the file name to prevent them from overwriting each other.

A: Image noise processing uses a certain amount of memory and CPU resources. We recommend processing images in batches, lowering the output quality, setting a side length limit, closing other resource-intensive programs, and avoiding processing too many ultra-high-resolution images at once.
