Software Usage Instructions

Select image files: Click the upload area to choose images, or drag and drop images into the upload area. Common formats such as JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP are supported, and you can select multiple files at once.
Confirm the file list: After uploading, the first 20 files will be displayed for review; if you select more files, the files not shown will also be processed.
Set the color mode:
- Auto color: Automatically generates a two-color effect based on the dark and light areas of the image.
- Custom two-color: Manually set the dark color and light color.
- Color presets: Quickly use common color schemes such as black and white, blue and gold, dark green, and paper ink.
Adjust binarization parameters:
- Binary threshold: Controls the boundary between dark and light areas.
- Contrast and midtones: Adjusts image layering and the relationship between light and dark.
- Dithering algorithm: Choose effects such as Floyd-Steinberg, Atkinson, Jarvis, Stucki, Burkes, Sierra, and Ordered.
- Dither strength and micro noise: Controls grain texture and detail rendering.
Set output options: Choose PNG, JPG, or WebP format, and control quality, maximum long-side pixels, scaling ratio, and filename suffix.
Refresh preview: Before processing, click “Refresh Preview” to view the effect on the first image, then continue fine-tuning the parameters.
Start conversion and download: Click “Start Conversion” to process all files. After processing is complete, you can download the first image or individual results separately, or click “Download All Results ZIP” to get all files.

FAQ

A: A regular black-and-white filter usually preserves grayscale levels; binarization compresses the image into two colors, making it more suitable for two-color posters, print artwork, pixel-style assets, and high-contrast art images.

A: Dithering uses dot-matrix grain to simulate light-to-dark transitions, allowing an image that uses only two colors to retain more detail. When dithering is turned off, edges are sharper, making it suitable for icons, silhouettes, and logo-style images.

A: Floyd-Steinberg works well for most photos; Atkinson produces softer grain; Jarvis and Stucki provide richer detail and tonal levels; Burkes is relatively fast; Sierra creates natural transitions; Ordered produces a regular dot pattern effect.

A: The threshold determines the cutoff for assigning pixels to dark or light colors. Lowering the value usually reduces dark areas, while raising it usually reduces light areas. Use the preview to fine-tune it gradually.

A: By default, the original file name is kept and the extension is replaced with the selected output format. If multiple processed files have the same name, the system automatically adds a number after the file name to distinguish them.

A: To keep the page responsive, the file list and result preview only show the first 20 items. All files are processed during conversion, and the downloaded ZIP will also include all successful results.
