1Cleanup Scope

Remove all metadata Remove common data such as EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, thumbnails, and comments. Remove GPS only JPEG can keep non-location EXIF; other formats are fully cleaned.

Fix image orientationRedraw using the orientation tag to avoid rotation changes after cleanup. Remove embedded thumbnailsRemove camera-generated preview thumbnails.

2Output Options

Output format File extensions are updated when converting formats.

JPG / WEBP quality:92% Only applies to lossy output formats.

Transparent area background Used to fill transparent pixels when outputting JPG.

ZIP name Uses the default name if empty.

Software Usage Instructions

Select image files: Click the “Select image files” button and choose the images you want to clean. JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, and BMP formats are supported, and you can select multiple files at once.
Load sample image: To try the workflow, click “Load sample image”. The sample image includes simulated shooting information, making it easy to view the detection, settings, and download steps.
View file overview: After selecting files, the page will display the number of files, total size, and previews of the first 20 files. Files beyond 20 will not be shown individually, but they will still be processed together.
Configure cleaning scope:
- Clean all metadata: Removes common hidden information such as EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, thumbnails, and comments.
- Clean GPS only: Suitable when you only want to remove photo location information. For JPEG files, non-location EXIF information can be retained.
Set output parameters:
- Output format: Keep the original format or convert all images to JPG, PNG, or WEBP.
- Image quality: Used for JPG and WEBP output. Higher values usually result in larger files.
- Transparent background: When a transparent image is output as JPG, the selected color will be used to fill transparent areas.
- ZIP file name: Customize the downloaded ZIP file name.
Start processing: Go to the “Process & Download” tab, confirm the settings, and click “Start cleaning”.
Download results: After processing is complete, click “Download result ZIP”. File names are kept the same as the original files by default. If duplicate names occur, numbers will be added after the file names to distinguish them.

FAQ

A: It can clean common metadata such as EXIF, GPS location, shooting time, camera brand, device model, XMP, IPTC, comments, and embedded thumbnails. When “Clean all metadata” is selected, hidden image information is processed more thoroughly.

A: Clean GPS only is mainly used to remove photo location information, and is suitable when you want to keep general information such as the shooting device and time; Clean all metadata removes more hidden information, making it suitable for handling privacy-related content before sharing photos.

A: PNG usually remains sharp; JPG and WEBP are lossy formats, so slight changes may occur when re-exporting. You can increase the quality setting, or process JPG images in JPEG original encoding stripping mode.

A: When selecting a large number of images in bulk, displaying them one by one can slow down the page. The interface only shows the first 20 for preview and checking; files not shown will still be processed and included in the downloaded ZIP.

A: When outputting in the original format, file names match the original names by default; if converting all files to another format, the extension will be replaced. If duplicate file names occur, a number will be added after the file name, such as photo(1).jpg.

A: No. Image reading, metadata cleanup, result generation, and ZIP packaging are all completed within the current page; the server will not receive your image files.

A: Common causes include unsupported file formats, corrupted image files, selecting files that are too large at once, insufficient device memory, or the current environment not supporting the selected WEBP output. Try reducing the number of files selected at one time, or switch to keeping the original format or PNG output and try again.
