Software Instructions

Select image files: Click the upload area to choose images, or drag and drop images directly into the tool. Common image formats such as JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, and GIF are supported, and you can select multiple images at once.
Load sample images: If you want to preview the effect first, click “Load sample images”. The tool will automatically prepare sample landscape and still life images for testing.
Choose an oil painting style:
- Impressionist: Suitable for soft lighting, landscapes, and everyday photos.
- Realistic impasto: Suitable for portraits, products, and still life images that need to retain more detail.
- Abstract color blocks: Suitable for posters, covers, and creative materials.
- Expressionist: Suitable for enhancing color contrast and emotional expression.
- Pointillist texture: Suitable for creating artistic effects with dotted brushstrokes.
- Fauvist: Suitable for images that need vivid colors and bold tonal changes.
Adjust effect parameters:
- Effect strength: Controls the blend between the oil painting effect and the original image.
- Brush size: Controls the thickness of the brushstrokes.
- Texture depth: Controls canvas grain, brushstroke relief, and oil painting texture.
- Color intensity: Controls the saturation and expressiveness of the image colors.
- Edge softening: Controls how softly the image edges transition.
- Brushstroke density: Controls the amount of painted brushstroke coverage in the image.
- Detail retention: Controls the proportion of original image detail retained in the result.
Set output options: You can choose the output long-edge size, output format, and image quality. During batch processing, file names will be kept as close as possible to the original files, and numbers will be added automatically to distinguish duplicates.
Start generating: After entering the “Generate and Download” step, click “Start generating oil painting effect” and wait for processing to complete.
Preview and download: After processing is complete, you can preview a comparison of the original image and oil painting effect for the first 20 images. A single image can be downloaded individually, and multiple images can be saved together by clicking “Download all results ZIP”.

FAQ

A: For portrait photos, try Impressionist or Realistic impasto first; for landscape photos, Impressionist, Expressionist, or Fauvist styles work well; for covers, posters, and creative images, try Abstract color blocks or Pointillist texture. It is recommended to generate once with the default parameters, then fine-tune based on the image content.

A: You can appropriately increase brush size, texture depth, brush density, and effect intensity. If the image becomes too heavy, you can reduce color intensity or increase detail preservation to make the result more balanced.

A: The tool will try to keep the same file names as the original files. If multiple images have the same name, a number will be automatically added after the file name, such as “Image(2).jpg”, to prevent results from overwriting each other.

A: The oil painting effect requires calculations on pixels, colors, brushstrokes, and textures. The larger the image size, the higher the brush density, and the deeper the texture, the longer the processing time. For batch processing, it is recommended to first test the effect with a smaller output long edge.

A: If you want to keep the original file type, choose “Keep original format”; for photo sharing and general image storage, choose JPG; if you need a transparent background or a format better suited for further editing, choose PNG; if you want a balance between file size and clarity, choose WebP.

A: You can increase effect intensity, texture depth, and brush density, and choose styles such as Expressionism, Pointillism Texture, or Fauvism. If the original image has many details, appropriately reducing detail preservation will make the painterly feel more obvious.
