Software Usage Instructions

Select image files: Click the “Select image files” button and choose the images you want to compress. JPG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF, and other formats are supported, and you can select multiple files at once.
View file previews: When multiple files are selected, the interface will display the first 20 images for checking. The remaining files will not be shown one by one, but all will be included in the compression process.
Choose a compression plan:
- Balanced compression: Suitable for reducing the size of everyday images.
- Web optimization: Suitable for website images, product detail page images, and images for content publishing.
- Size control: Suitable for scenarios where images need to be compressed to a specified KB or MB size.
Set the compression method:
- Compress by quality: Manually set a quality value from 1-100. The lower the value, the smaller the file usually is.
- Compress by target size: Enter a target size and unit, and the tool will automatically estimate an output result close to the target size.
- Light optimization: Preserves the visual quality of the image as much as possible, suitable for images with high clarity requirements.
Set output options: You can choose to keep the original format or convert all files to JPEG, PNG, or WEBP. You can also set parameters such as size limits, transparent background, JPEG EXIF retention, and preventing the output from becoming larger.
Save settings: Click “Save settings” to save commonly used compression parameters. They will be applied automatically the next time you open the tool.
Start processing: After entering the “Process and download” step, click “Start compression” and wait for the progress to complete.
Download results: After processing is complete, you can download individual images, or click “Download all results (ZIP)” to get all compressed files. The original file names are kept by default, and numbers are automatically added to distinguish duplicate names.

FAQ

A: Compressing by quality directly sets the image output quality. It is faster and suitable for organizing images in batches. Compressing by target size lets you enter the desired KB or MB size, and the tool automatically adjusts the quality. It is suitable when upload platforms have file size limits.

A: Image size is affected by resolution, content complexity, format, and transparency channels. If the image is still too large after the quality has been reduced to the set lower limit, you can enable size limits, or change the output format to WEBP or JPEG and process it again.

A: WEBP is suitable for web images and scenarios where file size needs to be reduced; JPG is suitable for photos, product images, and images that do not need a transparent background; PNG is suitable for icons, screenshots, images with transparent backgrounds, and images with many lines.

A: EXIF information contains metadata such as the shooting device, shooting time, orientation, and dimensions. You can enable it when you need to keep photo properties; if you care more about privacy and file size, you can disable this option.

A: The original file names are kept by default. If the output format changes, the extension will be updated accordingly; if multiple files generate results with the same name, the tool will automatically add a number to the file name to avoid overwriting.
