Software Usage Instructions

Select images: Click the upload area to choose photos, or drag images into the upload area. Common image formats such as JPG, PNG, WebP, and BMP are supported, and you can select multiple images at once.
Use sample images: If you only want to test the effect, click the portrait, architecture, or still life samples to quickly load an image and view the conversion result.
Set the sketch style:
- Classic Pencil: Suitable for most photos, creating a sketch effect with black lines on a white background.
- Fine Line Art: Preserves more contours and edge details, suitable for architecture, product images, and clear portraits.
- Charcoal Texture: Darker shadows and more noticeable grain, suitable for images with rich lighting and shadow layers.
- Colored Pencil: Preserves the original colors while overlaying sketch lines.
- Soft Sketch: Lighter lines and a cleaner image.
- Contour Drawing: Highlights the subject structure and outer contours.
Adjust processing parameters:
- Line Strength: Controls the darkness of pencil lines.
- Shadow Softening: Controls the softness of light and dark transitions.
- Edge Detail: Controls the clarity of contour lines and detail lines.
- Contrast and Brightness: Adjusts the overall black-and-white levels and lighting.
- Paper Texture: Adds a sketch paper grain effect to the result.
Set output options: You can choose to follow the original image format, or specify PNG, JPEG, or WebP format; you can also set the output size and JPEG/WebP quality.
Generate pencil drawing: Go to the “Generate & Download” step and click “Generate Pencil Drawing.” After processing is complete, you can preview the result.
Download results: A single image can be downloaded directly; multiple images will keep their original file names, automatically append numbers if duplicate names occur, and can be packaged as a ZIP download.
Save settings: After adjusting your commonly used parameters, click “Save Settings,” and the tool will automatically restore them the next time it is opened.

FAQ

A: You can increase Line Strength and Edge Detail, and slightly increase the contrast. For portrait photos, it is recommended to use the “Classic Pencil” or “Fine Line Art” style first, then fine-tune based on the preview.

A: Classic Pencil has more balanced lines and is suitable for everyday photos; Charcoal Texture has heavier dark areas and more noticeable grain, making it suitable for images with strong lighting and shadows or a more hand-drawn feel.

A: The results will try to keep the original file names. If multiple files have the same name, the system will append a number to the file name to prevent files in the ZIP archive from overwriting each other.

A: PNG is good for preserving crisp lines; JPEG usually has a smaller file size and is suitable for sharing; WebP balances file size and image quality. If you are not sure, choose “Follow original image”.

A: Photos with a clear subject, sufficient lighting, and a background that is not too cluttered are more likely to produce a clean sketch effect. Portraits, architecture, still life, and landscape photos can all be tried with different styles.

Answer: After selecting “Invert to black background with white lines,” the image will have an effect similar to a chalk line drawing or negative sketch, suitable for dark posters, avatar materials, and special visual designs.
