Software Usage Instructions

Select photo files: Click the "Select photo files" button and choose the photos you want to classify. Supports JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, WebP, and other formats, and allows selecting multiple files in batches.
Select a classification method:
- Time information: shooting date, creation time, modification time
- Technical parameters: image type, resolution, width, height, aspect ratio
- Camera information: camera manufacturer, camera model, focal length, aperture value, exposure time, ISO sensitivity
Set folder naming:
- Detailed naming: includes complete classification information
- Simplified naming: uses short descriptive names
- Numbering: numbers folders in sequence
Configure processing options:
- Choose whether to keep the original folder structure
- Automatically handle duplicate file names
- Create an "Unknown" category folder
- Preserve photo metadata
Start classification: Click the "Start classification" button, and the tool will automatically analyze the photos and create categorized folders.
Download results: After classification is complete, you can preview the results and click "Download classification results (ZIP)" to download the organized photo folders.

FAQ

A: Shooting date is suitable for organizing personal photos by time; camera model is suitable for managing photos taken with multiple devices; resolution is suitable for categorizing by use, such as web or print; image type is suitable for organizing assets by format. Choose based on the source and purpose of your photos.

A: Photos without EXIF information will be classified based on file properties, such as file modification time and image dimensions. After enabling the "Create unknown category folder" option, photos for which classification information cannot be obtained will be placed in the "Unknown" or "No EXIF data" folder.

A: After enabling the "Automatically handle duplicate filenames" option, duplicate files will automatically have a numeric suffix added, such as "Photo.jpg", "Photo_1.jpg", and "Photo_2.jpg". This ensures that all files can be saved correctly without overwriting existing files.

A: Common photo formats are supported: JPG/JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, WebP, etc. The tool automatically identifies image files and ignores files in non-image formats. We recommend using standard photo formats for optimal classification results.

A: No. All photo analysis and classification are completed locally on your device. Photo files will not be uploaded to the server, ensuring your privacy and data security.

A: The current version allows you to select only one classification method at a time. If you need multi-level classification, we recommend first classifying by the primary criteria, then using the tool again on the classified results to further subdivide them by secondary criteria.

A: Corresponding folders are created based on the selected categorization method. For example, categorizing by shooting date will create folders such as "20240101" and "20240102"; categorizing by camera model will create folders such as "Canon EOS R5" and "iPhone 14". Each folder contains all photos in the corresponding category.

A: We recommend processing in batches, with no more than 500 photos per batch. Make sure your device has enough memory and storage space. Avoid closing the page or switching to other apps during processing. For very large batches of photos, you can first group them by folder and then process them separately.
