Software Usage Instructions

Set basic project information: Enter the project name, person in charge, start date, and duration unit. You can enable automatic dependency scheduling, workday calculation, critical path, and today line as needed for the project.
Enter project tasks:
- Manual table: Fill in the task name, start offset, duration, dependent tasks, person in charge, progress, type, and color row by row.
- Paste data: Copy task data from a spreadsheet and paste it for parsing. Comma, Tab, semicolon, and vertical bar delimiters are supported.
- Import files: Supports CSV, XLSX, XLS, and JSON project files. For batch files, the first 20 will be displayed for verification.
- Project examples: Load sample projects such as software development, marketing campaigns, and engineering construction to quickly preview the results.
Configure task relationships: Select predecessor dependencies and lag days for tasks. After automatic scheduling is enabled, subsequent tasks will calculate their start times based on dependency relationships.
Adjust chart style: Set the chart title, width, row height, time scale, theme color, task color, progress color, and critical path color.
Select displayed content: Control whether to show progress, dependency lines, assignees, dates, legend, and gridlines to fit reporting, printing, or internal scheduling scenarios.
Generate Gantt chart: After clicking “Generate Gantt Chart,” you can view the project timeline, task bars, milestones, dependency lines, and statistics in the preview area.
Export results: Supports PNG, JPG, SVG, PDF, Excel, CSV, JSON, HTML, and other formats. After batch importing multiple project files, you can download the results as a ZIP package.
Save settings: Click “Save Settings” to retain the current project parameters and task table, so you can continue editing next time.

FAQ

A: Select the predecessor task in the “Dependent Tasks” column of the task table. After enabling “Automatically schedule by dependencies,” the current task will automatically calculate its start time based on the predecessor task’s end date and lag days.

A: Set the task type to “Milestone,” or set the duration to 0. It will be shown as a diamond marker in the chart, suitable for key points such as reviews, launches, acceptance, and delivery.

A: The critical path is used to identify the chain of tasks that affects the project completion date. After enabling “Highlight Critical Path,” related tasks will be shown in a prominent color, making it easier to monitor delay risks.

A: Start offset indicates how many time units a task is delayed relative to the project start date; duration indicates the length of time the task occupies. The time unit can be set to days, weeks, or months.

A: It is recommended to include fields such as task name, start offset, duration, dependent task, lag days, assignee, progress, type, and color. You can also download the CSV template and fill it in accordingly.

A: Batch export generates result files based on the original file names. If duplicate names are encountered, a number will be appended to the file name to distinguish them, and all files will be packaged into a ZIP for download.

A: It is recommended to click “Generate Gantt Chart” first to confirm the preview, then choose the export format. If there are many tasks, you can increase the chart width or choose SVG or PDF format to make it easier to view the complete timeline.
