Usage Instructions
This tool is a powerful bulk random name and username generator. It supports two generation modes: Chinese names and English usernames. All calculations are completed locally in your browser, so there is no need to worry about data security.
1. Chinese Name Generation
- Select a preset template: The tool includes 6 built-in name library templates—Common Names (Top 50 surnames), Hundred Family Surnames (expanded surname library), Classical Elegance (poetic and elegant style), Modern Trends (currently popular names), Compound Surnames (Ouyang, Sima, etc.), and Custom Mode. Click the corresponding card to load it quickly.
- Configure surnames and name libraries: Edit the surname and given-name lists in the text boxes, separated by a vertical bar
|. When switching preset templates, the corresponding data will be filled in automatically, and you can also modify it manually.
- Set gender and name length: Supports three gender filters: male, female, and mixed; name length can be single-character names, two-character names, or mixed mode. In two-character name mode, two characters are randomly selected from the name library and combined, greatly increasing the number of possible names.
- Configure generation options: Set the number to generate (up to 5000), optional prefix/suffix, numbering method (none/sequential/random), sorting method (random/by surname/by length), and output delimiter.
- Click Generate: Click the “Batch Generate Chinese Names” button, and the tool will use the efficient Fisher-Yates shuffle algorithm to quickly generate non-repeating random names and automatically jump to the results page.
2. English Username Generation
- Select a username style: 6 styles are available—Random Combination (adjective + noun), English Names (real English names), Tech Style (developer style), Gaming Style (game ID style), Business Style (formal usernames), and Cute Style (cute nicknames).
- Set username rules: You can configure minimum/maximum length, case rules (all lowercase/all uppercase/CamelCase/mixed), numeric suffix (2-4 digit random number or year), separator (underscore/hyphen/dot), and custom prefix.
- Generate and export: After setting the quantity and sorting method, click generate. Results also support downloads in multiple formats.
3. Result Management
- Browse and search: Generated results are displayed in a paginated grid and support keyword search filtering.
- Favorites: Click any name to add it to favorites. Favorite data is saved locally in your browser.
- One-click copy: Click “Copy All” to copy all results to the clipboard.
- Multi-format downloads: Supports export in four formats: TXT (optional delimiter), CSV, JSON, and Excel.
4. History
The tool automatically saves the last 50 generation records, including generation type, quantity, and time, making it easy to review. Favorite names are also persistently saved in the browser.
FAQ
Q: Are the generated names completely random and non-repeating?
A: Yes. The tool uses the Fisher-Yates shuffle algorithm. It first builds all possible name combinations, then randomly shuffles them and takes the first N entries, ensuring that every generated result is completely random and absolutely non-repeating.
Q: What is the maximum number of names that can be generated?
A: Up to 5000 can be generated at once. The upper limit of non-repeating names depends on the number of surnames × the number of given names (single-character name mode). In two-character name mode, the limit is the number of surnames × the number of given names × (number of given names - 1), greatly increasing the number of combinations. The tool displays the current number of possible combinations in real time.
Q: Will the data be uploaded to the server?
A: No. All calculations are completed locally in your browser. The surnames, name lists, and generated results you enter will not be sent to any server, fully protecting your data privacy.
Q: How do I use compound surnames and two-character names?
A: Select the “Compound Surnames” preset template to load common compound surnames such as Ouyang, Sima, and Shangguan. After choosing “two-character name” for name length, the tool will randomly select two different characters from the name library and combine them into a two-character given name, such as “Ouyang Jinyu”.
Q: How is the length of English usernames controlled?
A: Set the minimum and maximum length in “Username Rules”, and the tool will automatically filter out results that do not meet the length requirements. If the generated quantity is insufficient, you can appropriately relax the length restrictions or change the style.
Q: Can the generated results be used for commercial purposes?
A: Of course. The generated data is the result of random combinations, and you can freely use it in any scenario, such as filling test data, naming novel characters, creating game characters, prototype design, and batch account registration testing.
Q: Why is the number of generated English usernames sometimes lower than the set value?
A: When the length limits are strict or the style word library is limited, it may not be possible to generate enough non-repeating usernames. It is recommended to relax the length range, choose a different style, or add numeric suffixes to increase the number of possible combinations.
