Software Usage Instructions

Select conversion mode: Choose “Single Conversion” or “Batch Conversion” at the top of the tool. Single conversion is suitable for fine-tuning one video, while batch conversion is suitable for processing multiple videos with the same settings.
Select video files: Click the upload area or drag video files into the tool. Common video formats such as MP4, WebM, MOV, and AVI are supported. You can also click “Load Sample Video” to try the parameter effects.
Set trimming time: Enter the start time and GIF duration. If the selected range exceeds the video duration, you can choose to automatically trim to the end of the video, or show a prompt and stop processing.
Configure output parameters:
- Frame rate: Controls animation smoothness. Higher values usually result in larger files.
- Output width: You can choose 240px, 320px, 480px, 640px, 720px, or keep the original width. The height will be calculated proportionally.
- Number of colors: Choose 64 colors, 128 colors, or 256 colors to balance image detail and file size.
- Encoding strategy: Choose balanced, quality priority, or size priority.
- Loop playback and dithering: Control whether the GIF loops and whether complex color transitions are improved.
Save settings: Click “Save Settings” to keep commonly used parameters, which will be applied automatically the next time you open the tool.
Start conversion: After entering the “Convert & Download” step, click “Start Conversion.” A single result can be downloaded directly as a GIF, while batch results will be packaged as a ZIP file for download.

FAQ

A: Common video formats such as MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, and MKV are supported. If a specific format cannot be read, try converting it to MP4 before processing.

A: You can shorten the GIF duration, lower the frame rate, reduce the output width, select 64 colors, or use the size priority strategy. For batch processing, it is recommended to test the parameters with a sample or a single file first.

A: Use 8 to 12 FPS for reaction GIFs, 8 to 10 FPS for tutorial demonstrations, and increase it appropriately for fast-moving videos. The higher the frame rate, the longer the generation time and the larger the file size usually become.

A: No. Video reading, frame extraction, encoding, and packaging are all completed on the current device, and files are not submitted to the server.

A: The generated GIF will use the original video file name and change the extension to .gif. If a duplicate name is found, the tool will add a number after the file name to prevent results from overwriting each other.

A: Converting video to GIF requires extracting multiple frames and re-encoding them. The longer the video, the higher the frame rate, and the larger the dimensions, the longer the processing time. We recommend limiting the duration and choosing an appropriate width.
