Software Usage Instructions

Select an analysis mode: Use “Single Analysis” to process one media file, or “Batch Analysis” to select multiple files and folders. The batch file list displays the first 20 files, but all files are included in the analysis and export.
Select media files: Click the file selection area, or drag audio and video files into the tool. In batch mode, you can select a folder or click “Select Multiple Files” to add files from different directories.
Set the media scope: Select “Audio and Video,” “Video Only,” or “Audio Only.” For files from specialized devices, enter their extensions under “Additional Extensions,” such as .264, .dat, .mod.
Select the field scope:
- Basic fields: Export commonly used parameters such as file name, format, duration, bitrate, codec, resolution, frame rate, sample rate, and channels.
- Standard fields: Add parameters such as video profile, pixel format, color information, channel layout, subtitles, tags, and encoder.
- Complete fields: Add tag JSON and full track details JSON to the standard fields.
Set the report method: Batch mode can generate a single summary report or a separate report for each media file. Separate reports can preserve the relative directory structure of the selected folders.
Configure report options: Select CSV, XLSX, JSON, JSONL, or HTML format, then enter a report name or file name suffix. To verify file contents, you can calculate MD5 or SHA-256 checksums.
Start analysis: Click “Start Analysis.” The tool reads files in chunks and displays the progress and the numbers of successful and failed files. Click “Stop” to cancel the task.
View and download: After processing is complete, click “View” to check the detailed parameters. In single mode, download the report directly. In batch mode, the summary report or all separate reports are compressed into a ZIP file for download. Numbers are appended to duplicate separate report names to distinguish them.

A: Common formats such as MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM, FLV, MTS, MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG, and Opus are supported. Special extensions can be configured under “Additional Extensions.” Whether a file can be recognized depends on its internal container and codec structure.

A: No. Media files are analyzed by reading them in chunks locally on your device, and their contents are never submitted to the server. The tool only loads the site's media analysis and report generation components.

A: A consolidated report writes all media records to a single file, making filtering, sorting, and statistics easier. Separate reports are generated for each media file and are suitable for archiving with the source files. Separate reports can preserve the relative directory structure.

A: Use standard fields for routine media verification, compact fields when you only need codecs, duration, and basic specifications, or complete fields when you need to retain tags and all audio, video, and subtitle track data.

A: Common causes include file corruption, incomplete container structures, file extensions that do not match the actual format, unrecognized encoding structures, or analysis times exceeding the configured limit. The reason for the failure is written to the report's "Error Information" field.

A: Checksums can be used to determine whether file contents have changed and can also help identify duplicate files and verify deliveries. Calculating checksums requires reading the entire file, so processing time increases with file size.

A: When separate reports are generated in a flat structure, numbers such as _2 and _3 are automatically appended to duplicate file names. When "Preserve Original Path Structure" is enabled, identically named files from different directories are saved in the corresponding ZIP directories.

A: You can disable file verification, reduce the number of parallel tasks, and increase the timeout for individual files as needed. The tool reads media content in data chunks and does not modify the source files.
