1Extraction mode

By time interval Extract one image every specified number of seconds. Good for video thumbnails and timeline screenshots. By frame interval Convert time points using the reference frame rate. Good for controlling extraction count by frame density. Fixed count Extract a set number of images evenly within the time range. Specific times Enter times like 00:01.5 or 12.8 to extract frames.

Software Usage Instructions

Select video files: Click “Select or drag in video files” to add videos from which you want to extract frame images. Batch selection of multiple videos is supported. The interface displays the first 20 files, but all files will be included during processing.
Select extraction mode:
- By time interval: Set how many seconds between each extracted image. Suitable for creating video thumbnails and timeline screenshots.
- By frame interval: Calculate extraction positions based on the reference frame rate. Suitable for controlling the export quantity by frame density.
- Fixed number: Evenly extract a specified number of images within a specified time range.
- Specified time points: Enter specific time points to extract the corresponding frames.
Set time range: You can enter a start time and end time. Seconds, mm:ss, and hh:mm:ss formats are supported; leaving the end time blank means processing until the end of the video.
Configure output parameters: Choose JPG, PNG, or WebP format, and adjust image quality, maximum width and height, maximum frames per video, and image naming rules.
Save common settings: After clicking “Save Settings”, the tool will automatically load your common parameters the next time you open it, making it easier to process similar videos repeatedly.
Start extraction and download: After confirming the parameters, click “Start Extraction”. Once complete, you can preview the first 20 images and click “Download All Results ZIP” to get the complete results.

FAQ

A: Common video formats such as MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM, AVI, FLV, WMV, MPEG, M4V, 3GP, OGV, and TS are supported. The formats actually available may also depend on your device’s decoding capabilities.

A: Time interval is suitable for exporting one image every few seconds; frame interval calculates extraction positions using the reference frame rate; fixed number evenly extracts images within the start and end times, making it suitable for quickly generating a set of preview images.

A: You can enter seconds or a time format, such as 0, 3.5, 00:12, or 00:01:20.5. Multiple time points can be entered on separate lines, or separated by commas or semicolons.

A: By default, they are named using “original video file name_sequence number”. You can also use variables such as {name}, {index}, and {time} in the naming rule. If duplicate names occur, a number will be appended to the file name to distinguish them.

A: JPG is suitable for general screenshots and smaller file sizes; PNG is suitable for preserving more image detail; WebP is suitable for balancing file size and image quality. The higher the quality value, the larger the image file size usually is.

A: You can reduce the maximum number of frames per video, increase the extraction interval, lower the image quality, or limit the width and height. When processing many files in bulk, it is recommended to process them in batches.

A: Common reasons include a corrupted file, an encoding format not supported by the current device, or failure to read the video duration or dimension information. First confirm that the video plays normally, or convert it to a common format such as MP4 or WEBM before processing.
