Software Usage Instructions
- Select calculation mode: Choose “Single Calculation” for small amounts of data, and “Batch Calculation” for multiple rows of data or file data.
- Set known parameters: Select side length, area, perimeter, long diagonal, short diagonal, circumradius, or inradius.
- Select units and precision: Set length units such as meters, centimeters, millimeters, inches, and feet, and choose the number of decimal places. When entering an area, the system will convert it according to square units.
- Enter or import data: For a single calculation, enter a positive number; for batch calculation, enter one value per line or import a TXT or CSV file.
- Start calculation: Click “Start Calculation”, and the tool will convert side length, area, perimeter, long diagonal, short diagonal, circumradius, inradius, interior angles, and number of diagonals.
- Copy and export: After calculation is complete, you can copy the results. Batch data can be exported as CSV or downloaded as a ZIP. The batch results page previews the first 20 items, and the exported file contains the processed results.
- Save settings: For commonly used units, decimal places, and export options, click “Save Settings” for easier use next time.
FAQ
A: The formula for the area of a regular hexagon is A = (3√3/2) × a², where a is the side length. You can also calculate it using A = apothem × perimeter / 2.
A: The long diagonal connects two opposite vertices and has a length of 2a; the short diagonal connects two vertices with one vertex between them and has a length of √3a.
A: The circumradius of a regular hexagon is equal to its side length, i.e. R = a; the inradius, also called the apothem, is calculated as r = (√3/2) × a.
A: When area is selected as the known parameter, the selected length unit is automatically converted to a square unit. For example, if centimeters are selected, the entered value is treated as square centimeters.
A: Enter one positive number per line. Comma-, semicolon-, or tab-separated values are also supported. Unrecognized content in TXT and CSV files will be skipped and can be recorded in the exported file.
A: No. This tool is for regular hexagons, meaning hexagons with six equal sides and six equal interior angles. Irregular hexagons require more known side lengths, angles, or coordinate parameters.
