Software Usage Instructions

Select PDF files: Click the “Select PDF Files” area to choose one or more PDF documents to encrypt, or drag files into the selection area. The list only shows the first 20 files, but all selected files will be included during processing.
Load sample PDF: If you want to familiarize yourself with the workflow first, click the “Load Sample PDF” button to test password settings, permission configuration, and ZIP output with a sample file.
Switch to encryption settings: Complete the password and permission settings first, then click “Start Batch Encryption”. The top of the page will show the current number of files, encryption mode, and processing status.
Choose a password method:
- Unified password: Use the same open password for all PDFs, with optional permission password and password hint.
- Independent random passwords: Generate a different open password for each PDF. You can set the password length, prefix, character types, and preview random passwords.
Configure permissions and output:
- Print permissions: Choose to allow high-resolution printing, allow only low-resolution printing, or prohibit printing.
- Document permissions: Control operations such as copying, editing, commenting, form filling, accessibility reading, and page reorganization.
- Output settings: Set the ZIP file name, compression level, whether to preserve metadata, and whether to generate a password instruction file.
Start batch encryption: After clicking the “Start Batch Encryption” button, the tool will process PDFs one by one and display the number of successful files, failed files, output size, and logs in the processing results.
Download the results: After processing is complete, click “Download Result ZIP”. The encrypted PDFs will keep their original file names as much as possible; if duplicate file names are encountered, numbers will be automatically added to the file names to distinguish them.
Save password records: If the password instruction file is enabled, the ZIP will include password records and a CSV table. When using random passwords, be sure to save these records properly.

FAQ

A: A unified password is suitable when a batch of documents uses the same open password; independent random passwords generate a different password for each PDF, making them suitable for separate distribution or management by file.

A: The permission password is used to control operations such as printing, copying, editing, commenting, and form filling. The open password restricts reading the document, while the permission password manages document operation permissions.

A: The original PDF file name is usually preserved. If multiple files have the same name, the system will add numbers to the file names to distinguish them, then package them together into a ZIP file.

A: Unified password mode records the open password, password hint, and file list; random password mode records the open password for each output PDF and includes a CSV table for easier later verification.

A: Some encrypted PDFs may not be processed directly. If you see a failure message, first use a version you have permission to access, or remove the existing protection before encrypting it again.

A: No. PDF reading, encryption, and packaging are all completed locally on your current device, and file contents are not uploaded to the server.

A: Processing speed depends on the number of files, PDF size, and device performance. We recommend processing large files in batches, lowering the ZIP compression level, and closing resource-intensive programs.

A: The tool does not save your password and does not provide a recovery feature. Please keep the password record file safe. If the password is lost, we recommend using the original PDF to generate a new encrypted version.
