Software Instructions

Select an input method: Choose “Text Input” to paste Chinese content directly, or choose “File Upload” to batch process documents such as TXT, MD, RTF, HTML, DOCX, and PDF.
Prepare content for conversion:
- Text Input: Enter or paste Chinese text in the text box. Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese are supported.
- File Upload: You can select multiple files at once. The interface displays the first 20 files, and the remaining files will also be converted during processing.
Set conversion parameters:
- Tone format: Choose tone marks, numbered tones, no tones, or initial-letter abbreviation.
- Output style: Supports Pinyin only, Chinese + Pinyin comparison, and original text and Pinyin on separate lines.
- Pinyin separator: Choose spaces, hyphens, underscores, or no separator.
- Capitalization: Set lowercase, capitalize the first letter of each Pinyin syllable, or uppercase all letters.
- Traditional Chinese handling: Convert to Simplified Chinese first before conversion, or keep the original characters for conversion.
- Polyphonic word settings: Enable common polyphonic word matching, or add custom pronunciations in the format “word=Pinyin Pinyin”.
Save settings: Click “Save Settings” to save the current parameters on the current device, so you can continue using them the next time you open the tool.
Start conversion: Go to the “Conversion Results” step and click “Start Conversion” to generate the Pinyin results.
Copy and download: In text mode, you can copy the results or download a TXT file; in batch file mode, the original file names are retained for TXT output, numbers are automatically appended when duplicate names occur, and a ZIP archive can be downloaded.

FAQ

A: Pinyin with tone marks, numbered-tone Pinyin, toneless Pinyin, and initial-letter abbreviations are supported. You can also output Chinese + Pinyin comparison or original text and Pinyin on separate lines, making it suitable for teaching annotations, document organization, and text processing.

A: The tool includes built-in matching for common polyphonic words. For example, words such as 重庆, 银行, 音乐, 正在, and 说话 are converted according to context. For personal names, place names, and proper nouns, manual review after conversion is recommended. You can also add custom polyphonic words to improve match accuracy.

A: In “Custom Polyphonic Words,” enter one entry per line in the format “word=pinyin pinyin”. For example: 重庆=chóng qìng, 银行=yín háng, 音乐=yīn yuè. Custom entries are matched first.

A: Text-based documents such as TXT, MD, RTF, HTML, DOCX, and PDF are supported. For older DOC files, the tool will attempt to read the text content, but stability depends on the file structure. We recommend saving them as DOCX or TXT before processing.

A: If the PDF is a scanned image or an encrypted document, text may not be extractable. We recommend using OCR first to recognize it as copyable text, or saving it as TXT or DOCX before converting.

A: Yes. The tool provides two options: “convert to Simplified Chinese before conversion” and “keep original characters for conversion.” For higher recognition accuracy, we recommend using “convert to Simplified Chinese before conversion.”

A: Batch processing keeps the original file names and outputs the results as TXT files. If multiple files have the same name, the system will append numbers to the file names to distinguish them. After processing is complete, you can download a ZIP archive.

A: No, they will not be uploaded to the server. Text reading, Pinyin conversion, and ZIP packaging are all completed on the current device, making it suitable for processing teaching materials, name lists, manuscripts, and other content.
