Software Usage Instructions

Add video materials: Click "Browse" next to "Material Path" to select a folder, or click "Browse Files" to select multiple videos. You can also drag files/folders directly into the input box. Single files, multiple files, and multiple folders can be added together; separate multiple paths with semicolons. Check "Traverse Subdirectories" to recursively scan videos at all levels.
Set the save directory: Select the output folder for the merged videos under "Save Directory". If the directory does not exist, it will be created automatically. When used with "Traverse Subdirectories", you can check "Keep Original Path Structure" to restore the relative directory hierarchy of the materials.
Select a quick preset: You can choose preset combinations such as vertical short video, horizontal HD, ultra-fast lossless concatenation, and web WebM under "Quick Presets". After selecting one, you can still manually fine-tune each parameter.
Configure common parameters:
- Number of videos to generate: The number of videos to generate in this batch
- Segments per video: How many material segments each new video is merged from, usually 2–6 segments
- Output format and resolution: Select container formats such as mp4, mov, mkv and the target resolution
- Frame adaptation: When resolutions are inconsistent, choose from black border fit, crop to fill, stretch to fill, or blurred background
- Frame rate, audio processing, encoding mode, CRF, Preset: Adjust quality and speed as needed
Set advanced options: In "Advanced Options", you can set the combination strategy (random from entire library/same-directory combination/cross-directory mixing), whether repeats are allowed, file name prefix and template, random seed, material pre-check, output list, and more.
Start merging: Click the "Start" button, and the tool will automatically randomly select and merge materials. The progress and log area will display processing progress in real time. After processing is complete, you can view the generated videos in the save directory.

FAQ

A: Random from entire library mixes all materials together and randomly selects from them; Same-directory combination prioritizes selecting clips from the same folder, which is suitable for materials categorized by topic; Cross-directory mixing tries to take one clip from different folders to make the content richer and more diverse.

A: The random seed is used to reproduce results. If left blank, each run is truly random; after entering a fixed integer, the same materials and parameters will produce the same random combinations, making it easy to regenerate the same effect or troubleshoot issues.

A: When all clips have the same resolution, frame rate, and other parameters, and no forced output parameters are set, Smart (Fast) will directly copy and concatenate them, which is very fast; if the material specifications are inconsistent or you need to unify the resolution and frame rate, choose Force Re-encode, and the software will transcode everything uniformly before merging.

A: No. This is locally run desktop software. All extraction, transcoding, and merging are completed on your computer. Video materials and generated results will not be uploaded to any server, so your data remains secure and under your control.

A: Black Bar Fit preserves the full image and adds black bars on the sides or top and bottom; Crop to Fill cuts off the extra parts to fill the frame; Stretch to Fill forcibly stretches to the target size and may cause distortion; Blurred Background uses a blurred version of the image as the background fill. Vertical short videos commonly use Crop to Fill or Blurred Background.

A: After "Pre-check Materials" is enabled, the software will concurrently check each file before starting and remove materials that are corrupted, have no video stream, or cannot be read, preventing failures during merging. The log area will list the removed files and reasons. You can replace or repair these materials according to the prompts.

A: Video transcoding and merging can be demanding on CPU and memory. Recommendations: 1) For encoding mode, prioritize "Smart (Fast)" or increase the CRF value; 2) choose a faster Preset such as veryfast; 3) appropriately reduce the number of pre-check threads; 4) generate videos in batches and close other resource-intensive programs.
