Software Usage Instructions
Configure API parameters: Switch to the "Translation Configuration" tab and set the API URL, API key, and model name (default: gpt-image-2). The configuration can be saved locally in the browser, so you won’t need to enter it again next time. Click "Test Connection" to verify that the configuration is correct.
Select a translation mode:
Single-image translation: Suitable for translating a single image, with support for side-by-side comparison or slider comparison between the original and translated images
Batch translation: Suitable for processing large numbers of images, with concurrency control and automatic retry on failure. After translation is complete, you can download a ZIP archive with one click
Upload images: Click the upload area to select images, or drag and drop images directly into the upload area. JPG, PNG, GIF, and WebP formats are supported, with a maximum of 20 MB per image and up to 100 images per batch.
Select the target language: Click a language tag to select the target language (15 languages supported: English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian, Thai, Vietnamese, and Hindi), or choose "Custom" to enter any language.
Translate into multiple languages simultaneously (optional): In single-image mode, check "Enable simultaneous multi-language translation" to translate the same image into multiple languages at once and output them separately.
Customize translation prompts (optional): In the "Translation Configuration" tab, you can customize the prompt to control the translation style (formal/colloquial/simplified, etc.) or use preset templates for quick switching.
Start translation: Click the "Start Translation" button. During translation, you can click "Cancel Translation" at any time to stop the operation. In batch mode, the status of each image (waiting/translating/succeeded/failed) is displayed in real time.
View and download results:
Single-image mode: Supports side-by-side comparison and slider comparison, with direct download or retranslation available
Batch mode: Displays success/failure statistics, supports individual downloads or ZIP package download, and failed items can be retried with one click
History: Switch to the "History" tab to view the 50 most recent translation records (including thumbnails), with support for clearing and exporting.
FAQ
A: Common image formats such as JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP are supported. PNG or JPG is recommended for better translation results. The tool includes a built-in pre-compression feature, so oversized images are automatically scaled without manual adjustment. An image resolution of at least 720p is recommended to ensure accurate text recognition.
A: Yes. Based on the gpt-image-2 model, the tool will do its best to preserve the original layout, font style, colors, and visual effects, replacing only the text with the target language. After selecting the "Keep original image size" option, the output image resolution will be exactly the same as the original. For more precise style preservation, you can choose the "Strictly preserve style" prompt template in the translation configuration.
A: Visit the OpenAI official website to register an account, then create a new API key on the API Keys page. You can also use a third-party API service compatible with the OpenAI interface format (just modify the API URL). Make sure the API key has sufficient usage quota and image editing permissions. The key is stored only locally in your browser and will not be uploaded to any server.
A: The tool has a built-in smart retry mechanism. If an API call fails, it will automatically retry at the configured interval (3 times by default, adjustable in settings). After batch translation is complete, failed images can be reprocessed individually by clicking the "Retry Failed Items" button. Common causes of failure: invalid API key or insufficient quota, network connection timeout, API service rate limiting. We recommend setting concurrency to 3-5 during batch translation to avoid rate limiting.
A: A single batch translation supports up to 100 images. Drag-and-drop batch upload is supported, and the status of each image is displayed in real time during translation. After translation is complete, you can view success/failure statistics, download individual images, or package them into a ZIP archive for download with one click. We recommend reasonably controlling the number processed at one time based on your API quota.
A: Yes. In single-image translation mode, check "Enable simultaneous multi-language translation," then select multiple target languages. The system will translate the same image into each selected language in sequence and generate separate translation results, each of which can be downloaded individually. This is ideal for creating multilingual versions of materials.
A: All image processing (pre-compression, resizing, format conversion, cropping) is completed locally in the browser and will not be uploaded to our servers. Only when calling the translation API will the image data be sent to the API provider you configured for translation processing. The API key is saved in encoded form in the browser’s local storage to ensure data security and privacy protection.
A: Custom prompts can precisely control the translation style and results. For example: require formal business language, conversational expressions, simplified translation, or specify that certain proper nouns remain untranslated. The tool provides 5 common preset templates (default translation, strictly preserve formatting, simplified translation, formal wording, conversational style), and you can also write a fully custom prompt. The {targetLanguage} variable can be used in the prompt to automatically replace it with the target language.
